Was rumored a while ago. According to link he showed up at an EHS football practice and then said he was moving to houston but now staying in BR.

Heh. I posted this as a rumor in the basketball recruiting thread a while ago and it seems I was right. Not much reason to stay at EHS atheletically considering he's focusing on basketball, apparently.

Not having to go to Scotlandville seems like a pretty good reason.

Why do we care what high school this guy goes to?

Well, his district rivals in 2A will be glad they don't have to face him in either sport. Shocked if he's giving up football though-when he quit growing, I thought his college prospects as a TE might be better than on the hardcourt.

As LSU fans, he would get time to work in the wing at Scotlandville where he would likely play in college.
You left off the next word which qualified my statement. I don't see how it's anything but an athletic move for him.

If the move is to his "home" school then there is no issue with eligibility. Whether Scotlandville or Glen Oaks is his home school is the question. There area where he lives is actually closer to Glen Oaks, but the school district lines would determine which school he is to attend.

....yeah - who wants to go to one of the best high schools in the state... besides , who needs academics to qualify, right ??

so are you saying Scotlandville is not a good school academically than Episcopal?
Posted on 8/10/12 at 2:06 pm to GeauxGus
The academic issue is way overblown. Obviously Episcopal is a way better school than Scotlandville or Glen Oaks. However, the kid already has multiple scholarship offers and reportedly has good grades and is well qualified. It won't matter what school he graduates from.
Damian Jones from Scotlandville is being recruited by Vanderbilt and Stanford. Where he attends school doesn't seem to be a factor.

Thank you. I've never once thought or insinuated that Episcopal was anything but a great academic school, but the move he's making has nothing to do with academics.

why does it matter, let the kid go play were he wants, it's his sr year let him have fun.

everything i have heard lately points to transferring to Scotlandville. Academically easier for him as well as playing the 3 spot.

New age high school athletics, kids 'hold out' on going to school while they weigh their options.

I doubt he is looking at academics although Scottlandville is a magnet program. Scottlandville is poised to compete for the state 5A BB championship and has a couple of other DivI recruits on the team.

Obviously transferring to Scotlandville for the value its diploma holds.

I know most are treating this as a done deal, but it officially is a done deal. Address I was shown is no doubt in Scotlandville and different from the address from before which had him zoned for Glen Oaks.

its not going to be official until he attends class there. but he'll be at scotlandville.
