I've never had BBQ goat...Is it as tasty as beef or pork?

At the annual Southern Soul Festival in Gum Springs, AR this past weekend, several goats were barbecued for the event and it has been reported that BBQ goat sandwiches were the most popular item on the menu. I don't think I've ever tasted BBQ goat. Is it really that good?

if it's cooked right, it's very good. it's different than beef or pork. i like it a lot.

It's good, I bought one from restaurant depot and smoked it.

Is it similar to lamb? Regardless, it got my attention and I've never been a "food sissy" and want to try it. Thanks!

I've smoked a lot of different meats in the past and it sounds really good. I've got to try it.

depends on how its cooked, the age of the goat and the cut of meat you get.
Some parts can have a strong gamey taste
But when done right they are very good.
Cook slow and moist or it will dry out.

I like to braise a good shoulder roast.
Quick hijack..Gee the guy that got killed on the bicycle by the hit and run. You said you went to school with him...the firewood guy at the end of old Hammond? Was that him? I've been buying firewood from him the last few years.

Probably so Martini, I have not seen the guy in 20 years or so, He grew up around the corner from me and we went threw school together. I know he had a tree removal company, so it probably was him.

make sure that you don't let it cool off. if you do, it has that chalky taste on top of your pallet like venison.

It was him. Eddie Arrinder. Nice guy but had a bunch of dwi hence riding the bike. He looked a lot older than 50.
