The Cubans are some bad motherfrickas.
They cross the gulf in the biggest POS rigs they can find.

Point is, possible doesn't equal prudent.

Go ahead and put me in the pretty not smart category. I've been 40+ miles out in my 22 ft blackjack out of fourchon l and I will be going 20 or so miles out of venice tomorrow in it.

When I was a little kid we had a camp on Toledo. We had a little stick steering bass boat with I think a 40 on it. One day me, my dad and mother got caught up in a bad storm in the middle of Toledo. It just went from nothing to black. Big wind and lightning. We couldn't outrun it, but did make it in. Scared the shite out of us. The next week dad went out and boat an 18 footer with a 150 on it.

Yep, that's some bad wanting to get out of a country. I bet when they get half way, they are wishing they hadn't started.

get another boat to go along. I would run a 23'Kenner 60 mi out of Mermentau a couple times a year. Prolly not smart but usually had another boat with us. Gotta watch the weather really close.I knew some guys who had a 23'Mako, single screw and went to the Flower Gardens in it

More like real life 2.5's... It is just about impossible for 6' waves in Barataria Bay... Anybody who has truly been in 6' waves knows the feeling of being in a trough and seeing nothing but water and its a sinking feeling, pun intended...

C'mon, I had forgotten my beanbag. Seriously though, I can't imagine how that little 21 footer was bouncing around.

Well they were at least 4 footers, ask someone who was in it like 34venture. It was a pretty big topic back at the marina how bad it was, wind was blowing 50 mph
