But I'm fixing to head out to watch Django a second time and follow up with Inglourious sometime afterwards. I gotta know which one I find better.

I need to see Django again also. I had a better "First impression" of Django than Basterds. But I must admit I've been thinking about Inglorious Basterds lately....and it really is a movie that gets richer with each viewing.
My guess is Django will as well...which is why I say Django > Basterds. But I gotta watch it a couple more times to be sure.

The others are good but pulp is a masterpiece
I completely agree. I find it almost unfathomable that people would have something other than Pulp Fiction at the top of their list.

After seeing django...my list looks like this
1-pulp fiction
2-Kill Bill's
3-Jackie Brown
4-Basterds
5-Django
6-resivior dogs
I think django will move up my list once I buy the DVD and watch it at my house. It was pretty uncomfortable being in the movie theatre with a lot of black people and hearing the n-bomb a million times. Still a great, entertaining movie though.

1. Inglorious Basterds
2. Reservoir Dogs
3. Django Unchained
4. Jackie Brown
5. Pulp Fiction (it's really tight between 2-5)
6. Death Proof
--MASSIVE GAP---
7. Kill Bill 1
8. Kill Bill 2 (the only truly bad movie he's made)
2. Reservoir Dogs
3. Django Unchained
4. Jackie Brown

The only issue with Basterds I had was that we didn't get to see enough of them doing their thing

Not trolling just can't spell lolz. 2-6 are really close, I just like the others better than reservoir dogs.

I still think Pulp fiction is a great movie. It's just that he has a lot great films. One of em has to be fifth.

So after watching Django a second time, it's fair to say it isn't quite on par with Inglourious Basterds. I'd actually put Django below Kill Bill and slightly above Reservoir Dogs.
I felt like something was missing in this film. The acting was all-around superb (with the exception of Jamie Foxx).

And I KNEW I wasn't tripping when I saw Franco Nero in Django Unchained! For those of you who didn't know, the "bar patron" or mandingo owner that approaches Django after his man lost the fight, is the original Django. His face hasn't changed at all.

1. Django Unchained
2. Pulp Fiction
3. Reservoir Dogs
4. Inglorious Basterds
5. The Man From Hollywood (Four Rooms)
100. Kill Bills
9,000. Jackie Brown
Everyone has their opinions, not knocking others' tastes. I love QT, but think his movies are way over analyzed. Django is number one based on the pure entertainment of a movie and the fact I've seen Pulp Fiction way too many times. I liked Django for not being too Tarantino. Jackie Brown was awful. Rum Punch was a decent book, and his adaption was even worse. I'm not a kung fu/samuri fan so Kill Bills did zero for me. Never seen Death Proof.

this director has fallen off from what he used to do. he used to make great movies. now he makes good/mediocre movies that are entertaining and original, but at the same time boring/dumb slashing homages to who gives a frick. he has so many under his spell, but he is not close to best director, as some will claim.
I'll give him this credit: he has masterfully created mass market movies that the masses think are hip/special. at some point, you have to realize that he is a rich man's jerry bruckheimer.

Django gets better with each viewing.
Plus...I think once its viewed 4 or 5 times....
Its clearly in the top 3.
Again..just my opinion though.

he really kind of wiggled his way out of the whole "men on a mission" theme QT was hyping during the build-up to production. still a great movie though, and the writing was top-notch. the cellar drinking game scene was one of his finest, imo.
if i had to rate the three most influential movies of the past 50 or so years, itd be Breathless, Star Wars, and Pulp Fiction. Reservoir Dogs cemented QT's voice, but Pulp Fiction was a seminal event, and i cant remember a more controversial american movie, other than maybe Passion of the Christ.

I was a huge Elmore Leonard fan when that came out. Because of that I found Jackie Brown to be weak/awful/lazy/boring/anti climatic/boring/etc etc.
