I saw this on another Louisiana hunting forum and the guys says he measured him at 140 2/8. Nice deer but I just don't see it. IWSHI

if you're the poster on that other forum, sorry.

Even being generous with the mass i would guess it would gross high 120s low 130s

Good beam length, good tines, average mass
The brows kill the deers score, but I wouldn't hesitate to shoot it.

No way that's a 140 class. High teens to mid 120's tops IMO.

Antler scoring is always overestimated/overstated. Look up true 140 class bucks and you'll see some much larger racks.

Where I hunt we are supposed to only shoot this or that and I always second guess myself. There was a website that had pics and you could guess then reveal the actual score.

Hard to say just by that pic. I don't think he's 140, but pretty sure it's 130+. I'd venture to guess 132. Good tines go a long way.

Not even close, tell homeboy you can't measure your own deer and expect an accurate score.

Very close

15" spread
2"x2 g1s
11"x2 g2s
10"x2 g3s

Beams 45"
30" mass

136"

Some of you know nothing about scoring if you think that deer is in the teens

No way that's a 140. I'd guess 110-120.

I think that deer could definitely be a 140, if not then he is a solid 130+. I guarantee you if his spread was wider most of you would suddenly agree. A wider spread may look a lot better, but it only adds like 3-5 more inches to the total score depending on how much wider he is. This deer has decent mass, and look at this deers tine lengths. That is where he gets that score from.

you would probably be surprised on how close it will get. i have killed several over the last few years and being able to get to 50 inches just on the main beams makes it so much easier. not to mention two of the tines are longer than 12 inches. my estimate below:

Beams 24 & 26 = 50'
G1's 2 & 2 = 4'
G2's 12 & 13 = 25'
G3's 10 & 10 = 20'
spread = 15'

before the circumferences, it is already at 114 so any one who thinks this deer is in the teens is a simpleton. Im not going to guess at the circ. because most of the time they are hard to judge, but to make it to 140 it will only need to average 3.25 inches.
