he's coming in to be a role player. i don't get all the criticism. are these 2 players the yankees gave away for a role player really that big of a deal?

yeah 38 year olds batting .261 with an OBP under .300 and absolutely no power usually arent in the majors unless they were once big names.

he is batting over .300 against every team in the AL east..

This is a fricking lie

So Ichiro wants a different stimulation? Interesting. This translator could really say anything and we'd all go for it.

He has some awesome quotes. There's a site out there somewhere with a list of them. They're brilliantly hilarious. I'm going to miss everything about him besides his production.

Decent trade, playing in yanks lineup he will be an 8/9 hitter... He can slap singles and steal a few bases, if his defense picks up it will be very good... Yanks have Ibanez and Jones playing well do he won't be full time either

No way in hell do the Mariners trade Felix now. Who would the face of the franchise be? Ackley?

CC has pitched well
Hughes has been money lately
Kuroda has pitched extremely well
Andy will be back by playoffs fresh
Garcia had been up and down

Ichiro, A-Rod, Ibanez, Randy Johnson...where Mariner legends go to die.

Thats true. I would like to see him get 3000 hits in the US but I dont think he has much of a chance unless the last 2 years are a fluke (which they arent, he is 38).

i'm sorry does he not have a hit in 10 of his last 12 games? 5 of those multi-hit..

First, this is a cherry-picked stat. Second, it isnt even a good one. He has raised his average from .258 to .261 (and OBP from .286 to .288) during this "hot streak" (16-57, 12B, 13B, 0HR). The 5 games before that, he was 0-20.

My idiot facebook friend says that Ichiro was brought in for the playoffs, because he has a great playoff record. Apparently he doesn't get sample sizes

The Yankee machine keeps rolling. Let them spend their money, they will flop at the end.

What money?
Yankees didn't buy him, it was a bit of a salary dump and Mariners got 2 prospects

Go from most wins in league history to no playoffs for 11 years. Gotta love being a Mariners fan.

Pretty much every team has a player like Ichiro as their 4th outfielder, although they're likely nowhere near the defensive player Ichiro is. He's pretty much done but to say he's only in the majors because he's Ichiro just makes you look stupid.

Thanks for making baseball somewhat interesting for the past ten years Ich. And thanks for this especially.

Technically he fizzed out as a Mariner and Yankees just took him off their hands
