Batman Begins is a vastly superior movie.
I'm not so sure about "vastly", but I do agree that it is a better film.

Ra's Al Ghul wasn't nearly as good a villain as Joker. No, I'm not one of the sheep who joined in on the Ledger suckfest.
How do you differentiate between the people that legitimately liked Ledger's performance, and the sheep that joined the suckfest after the fact? I'd like to be in the first group.

Maggie is dreadful to look at and I could have cared less if she got blown up.
This. If she was not a celebrity and you saw her in a bar, you'd think she was average. Again, the changing of the actresses (I know it was Holmes' fault) ruined the Rachel death scene for me as well.
I just hope TDKR returns the focus to Bruce somehow.

exactly this; her death wasn't as emotionally powerful to me because it seemed like a different character. (not the rachel we knew)

Right out of the gate they had Rachel flirting with Harvey and asking if he wanted to take the rest of the day off. That was nothing like her character in Begins.

Maggie is a good actress but absolutely hideous to look at.

Holmes and BB were just empty to me

Maybe a couple of years working as a civil servant had given her a touch of cynicism, and after her boyfriend winning a big case, she was open to the idea of a celebratory afternoon with some of "the shoosh"...you know "the bad."

Watched BB yesterday as well, and I absolutely can't stand the way Katie Holmes basically talks out of one side of her mouth.
Also, never really noticed it before, but it was bugging the shite out of me near the end when Batman was dangling underneath the train as it sped along the track. There is ZERo chance that could've happened. And I don't mean like it was movie magic shite...they literally kept showing the track, and the bottom of the train was passing over numerous obstacles (like the supports, other tracks, etc.). It wasn't just open to below...the line Batman was hanging on would've been snapped/cut within seconds. That was really bothering me.

BB is clearly superior IMO.
BB is the BEST telling of a superhero origin ever. TDK was great, but Ledger very overrated.
BB has a more authentic rawness, it feels darker and more real to me.
Gyllenhall is a better actress but really so hard to look at that it takes you out of the movie. Woefully miscast (I have liked her in other things fwiw, like that Will Ferrell movie). Holmes is beautiful, and her acting is not so bad that it detracts from the movie.

I still don't like Ra's as much as the Joker.

Best bit of acting in the entirety of TDK is when Ledger/Joker says "And you ARE beautiful."

I think Begins is better as well, I'm not a comic book reader and liked the origins story. I also think the villians were perfect. The first one was more about Batman and him fighting the mob and corruption.

I don't either, but Ra's al Ghul worked well in the context of the film. Plus, the villains weren't nearly as important in Batman Begins as they were in The Dark Knight.
