If Cell had been released on a different planet, one with more inherently stronger life forms, would he have been stronger than he was on Earth?
I guess what I mean to say, did he have a limit to his power? Could he, over time, have just continued to get stronger and stronger until he was the most powerful character in the universe?

Yes because he was part Saiyan. Just like almost dying made him stronger than before

But he wouldn't be in his perfect form without 17 & 18

His cells remembered what prefect form were like after he was killed and 18 was puked out. Do you not remember? He died but he came back stronger as prefect cell.

So thanks to the new Dragon Ball game that peaked my interest, I've decided to go back and watch Dragon Ball Z from start to finish. I watched some of it when I was younger. I have memories of Gohan going Super Saiyan 2 and beating Cell, but that's about it. I remember that being badass, but I wasn't like a huge fan or anything.
I'm still in the first season and am loving it so far. Gohan is training in the wild and Goku is dead running along an endless wall.

Vegeta is my favorite and this is my favorite moment in the series. The music sets the badassery of the scene. Get goosebumps every time watching it

I think we are some of the few that like the electronic music. I, personally, think the "traditional" music sounds great for Dragonball, but not for Z.
Z needed the edgier stuff.

Falconer music will always be the true music for me. I don't care if it sounds like ringtones sometimes, it gets me soooo pumped
I'm also watching Dragon Ball from beginning to end for the first time. I always wanted to watch it on the blue bricks, but I just decided to watch it on a website. I think I watched this show wayyy more as a kid than Z. Everything feels so much more recognizable about it. I loved the Pilaf and World Tournament sagas. Haven't been to big on the Red Ribbon saga honestly. I enjoy it when the gang is all together.

Falconer tunes were too inconsistent. There's a reason they didn't use him again for DB and Kai.

I would have lol'd so hard if he would have hit Yamcha instead of Trunks

Only good thing about that clip was the music.
I love dragon ball but that clip reminded me of everything I hated about it. Long monologue inside the head with still photos where its takes forever to get across a point we already know(we can tell he's sad about his son three secs in) the huge blast then 30secs of smoke clearing. 20seca of charging. I still love the show but some things are terrible. I wish I could go back and edit all that crap out. Again I still love the show but I needed to vent that

It's not like that's a unique feature to DBZ or anime in general. It's been a staple in just about every form of media. In literature it's an aside, in the theatre it's a soliloquy, in anime it's apparently needless filler.
I like it.
I like it.

I agree for the most part about too much charging up, smoke clearing, and spontaneously not being able to read the bad guys power level to tell he is still alive, but that scene is stillooking badass

Bruce Faulconer > this cliche asian anime they replaced it with
Sorry, but in the asian community DBZ is one of many similar looking/themed anime series, but in the USA it stands out really nicely among the anime we have, and the Faulconer music just will never get beat in how it accents its unique place.
I equate the transition to this "new" music to transitioning from the Hanz Zimmer music in the Chris Nolan Batman to the old Adam West "bam, pow, smack!" Batman music. That's what the new music reminds me of.

Faulconer's music really makes watching DBZ that much better. Like Tigger said, it really makes DBZ stand out among the rest.
