Hard to say, but the context is confusing, like they were talking about a certain style offensive guy wouldn't be good, not steele, but its hard to decifer.

I'm assuming because Steele's D gave up 600 yards and 70 points in their last outing has something to do with it. Bad fit on a team that goes fast pace such as Clemson.

I take it as LSU is already very good and that this is a step UP for Steele...not one for LSU.

in other words, it is not BAD for LSU...just that the main benefit is to him.

Says WVU's offense was not an offense that Clemson was comfortable in defending. Obviously.

Have no idea.

Are people under the assumption that he would actually be doing more than helping break down film?

People keep throwing out how good a recruiter he is, how terrible his defenses were, how combustible he is. It doesn't matter. He's a glorified grad assistant. He can't recruit off campus, and likely can't recruit on campus. He won't be coaching a position. He won't have final say over anything. He's just an experienced set of eyeballs to give a new angle to the defensive staff.

As far as Steele as a coach, idk how he hasn't been more successful. He's worked under Tom Osbourne, Dom Capers, Nick Saban and now Chavis.

He surely didn't soak anything up though cause he is miserable. Really nice guy though!

the staff is full, it's not like he will be a position coach or the DC.

I actually watched 8:51 seconds of every passing play that UWV ran including the pitch passes they scored on (2) against Clemson.

(Before you ask, @smartfootball's Chris Brown wrote a 10,000 word breakdown on the history, development and schematics behind the Air-Raid Spread Offense. The cut-ups of the Orange Bowl were included as reference points in the blog post)

They played terrible angles & had horrible technique. They completely lost their composure and got shredded. Steele isn't going to be calling the plays or making real decisions.

He did interview for our DB job and is a close personal friend and confidant of Chavis. Anything that makes Chavis more comfortable and happy I'm all for.

Beyond that, Steele being around our program is outstanding as he's been all over the college game, as well as coordinated in the NFL for several years. Nevermind that the great Saban hired Kevin Steele (no wisecracks about him hiring Phil Elmassian, either!).

Another positive is that Kevin Steele was and has always been a dynamite recruiter. From his time at FSU to Bama & then at Clemson. Anytime he can be around players or recruits, its going to be a good thing.
