I sincerely hope that never happens from what I have heard Randal is a pretty good kid and doesnt deserve that at all. Just because he is a mobile qb doesnt mean he is anything like JJ.

I think he is Mauck with a better arm! I just do not know if we will ever find out though. We shall see! THE BOTTOM LINE.......Let's worry about Mett this year...and next:)

For the record I think Mett will be plenty on his own and I dont care one bit one way or the other whether Randall steps on the field next year. With that said his highlight films are very strong. Big arm, quick release, track speed but looks to throw rather than just taking off. If they can get his accuracy down we are looking at a big time star. We are bringing in 2 maybe 3 qbs because we are probably losing liggins, and both him and rivers will be redshirt sophomores when the next class is coming in which is perfect to stagger the next starter for after they leave. Have you completely written off Rivers as well? Or is it just Randall....

This thread has turned comical, but in a way I am grateful to read all the comments. What I've taken away from the bickering and mudslinging is that LSU is fricking stacked with talent for 2012 and the coming years.

Kid is on the team so I support him but I really want to support his ability to chart plays and send signals in to the other guy... Maybe that makes me sound like an arse but it's still to soon from JJ for me to say I want to see him play. Mett still has only a handful of meaningful plays in games so if were up I wouldn't mind seeing them work on his game so when were not up big know how to throw the ball and still be balanced.
WOW!!! How many practices have you been to? Were you at the Spring game? So Randall's success as a QB has something to do with JJ in your mind?

You are joking right? How many QBs have they brought in since Rivers signed?
You fell they should have stopped recruiting QBs. And its Randall why they have had to resort to recruiting 2 maybe 3 Qbs?

You know that's actually a good question, I went to about 6-7 fall practices last year, about 5 spring practices this year, and was in the stadium club for the spring game. My company is a corporate sponsor for LSU and we have 3 players that work their internship with us. I can't say the names but the geniuses here should be able to figure it out when I say it's a certain QB, a starter at LB, and a senior WR.. We entertain clients by being able to provide access to practices as long as we don't speak to the players during them... I've had great conversation with the guys that work for us and I tell you Randall is not ready, that's not only my opinion. Every player on this team doesn't want to go through what they did last year on offense and I can assure you they're not looking for a change of pace. They want Mett to be a stud and our running game to dominate and not screw up the flow of the offense.
Also I understand you bring in Qb's every year but I'd be willing to wager that LSU is not happy with where they are with QB depth. As for the JJ comment you're right maybe I don't want to see a running QB with accuracy issues the year after he leaves, I'd be willing to bet that i'm in the majority on that issue as well.
I hope yall understand that what I'm saying is not a shot at Randall, he's probably a great kid, great athlete, and could find a way to contribute one day at LSU but I can tell you it's not at QB this year. Having a big arm can make you a thrower but it's doesn't always make you a passer... ask JJ about that.
