You make a good point. Believe me when I say that I always rooted hard for whoever was playing the QB position. I just think that JJ rarely was sharp at the beginning of the games he started in 2011. I don't know that Jarett Lee was much better except that I believe he far exceeded expectations through the first half of the season, and up until the first Bama game, had thrown only one interception since about the middle of 2010, somewhere close to 160 passes attempted.

I think JJ tried his heart out as a Tiger, and I knew that the Tigers would need him to play well last season. He had his moments, but LSU needed more production from him.

2013 recruiting class is gonna be incredible. we should win the recruiting title finally even though it doesnt mean shite considering michigan is number one right now and they dont have one player from below the mason dixon line.

2013 recruits interested in LSU

First of all, I'd like to thank those who gave me positive feedback on my post in spite of the oversights that Mett can't have earned two letters, and Rasco clearly is only a Soph this year.

I,too, am excited about a lot of young players. One that intrigues me is Jerrard Randall. I believe that Les Miles will have to get both Randall and Rivers ready to play. I think Randall represents a possible different dimension for which opposing defenses might not find themselves prepared. Both Mett and Rivers are pro-style pocket passers who may have limited mobility. I think both might be more subject to injury as a result.

I feel certain that Coach Miles will prepare a package for Randall and build it through the season. I'd like to see him play, but I hope that he doesn't have to play.

did you sent it "certified-signature required", I would hate for that gem to get lost in the mail.

Naw....I just emailed it. Then I decided that it might make some good reading for the Rant. I don't mind taking the abuse, and I feel gratified by those who indicate that they enjoyed it.

Your letter was right on and a decent read. Omitting the QB's was necessary. Jarrett Lee lost his confidence and drive knowing what Les was going to do. He was getting better and more confident with each game and Mett was getting experience in mop up. The RETURN changed everything and the train started going off the track. Most of us saw the wreck coming. But this season should be better. You are absolutely correct in you assessment, of the coming year.

Emailing that kind of thing to a friend wreaks of the ghey. And colossal waste of time.

Please say I'm on the positive feedback list!

It would seem that way. The truth is that I left LSU in 1970 to serve my country. For some 25 years, I could only occasionally see or hear an LSU game. I was working too hard and too long.

With Internet and Cable TV, I began to be able to see more and more of my Tigers starting in the mid 90s. I retired from my job in nuclear operations in 2005. Since then, LSU football is a hobby of mine. I study LSU, the SEC and any upcoming opponents. I get my hands on season tickets, I go to bowl games.

I enjoy becoming knowledgable about our Tigers.

I do play golf, travel quite a bit, read a lot of good books. it's not a bad life for a 62 year old.

ok, i actually though we would win the sec and the bcs title last year. didnt imagine we would go 13-0 just to get womped by bama. All i thought was, our qbs just have to play a lil better and not turn the ball over, well they did that for 13 games. If we can improve once again at the qb position then we should win it all. But 1 loss in the sec west prob mean no trip to atlanta and no trip to miami.

If one of my friend randomly sent me a letter like that, I'd think it was creepy. If I found out he then went and posted that letter on the internet...

It was an email to him. Sometimes I call him, but he is a busy guy working on a big project as a contractor. This way, he can read it at his leisure. He also is a huge Tiger fan.

It wasn't like I posted his email address. He won't give a shite. Why would you?

Just giving you shite...passion is a good thing...keeps you alive...and more rewarding when you're passionate about one sport (college football - the most worthwhile) then trying to follow a bunch of sports.

I just don't like dwelling in the past (rewatching regular season games) except for big bowl wins.

it went over as well as the other long posts I originated. This one was actually more brief than the prdictions I made before the 2009, 2010 and 2011 seasons.

Those predictions were pretty accurate, especially the last two years.
