Zach Mettenberger, LSU
But if there is one player who may be receiving just as much or maybe even more attention than Barkley it’s Mettenberger, who is projected to be the starter for the Tigers this season.
While Barkley has proven his worth in the world of college football, Mettenberger is just getting his chance to do the same.
Mettenberger was a highly recruited player out of high school and signed with Georgia before being booted from the team in 2010.
He then hit the junior college ranks and lit the world on fire before playing behind Jordan Jefferson and Jarrett Lee last season.
There’s no doubt Mettenberger is the man this year in Baton Rouge, and like Barkley, is hoping he can lead the Tigers to another national title.

how has he looked at camp?

Didn't JJ "shine" in this camp last year?

Well this article literally didn't tell me anything new.

Mett looks like a natural quarterback. JJ has never.
People act like Mettenberger has never played in a game.. He has and he is a very natural QB.. something LSU hasn't had in quite some time.

Mett prob thinks Barkley has the ghey. Oh and I feel LSU fans have no idea what to expect, as in, someone who can make a fourth read or look off a safety. I can see it now fans in the stands looking at each other saying, 'have not seen a throw like that in a while'. It is amazing we were 13-0 with JJ, think about it 13-0. Thats some good D and ST. shite, even EA sports knows we have a hard-on for RG3. Think of it as a couple who hates each other to finally get a divorce, the dis-function is over and we are seeing a bad arse chick now who never nags.

potentially......
let's not get crazy..... yes, he was highly recruited.... yes, he has a ton of potential to do great things at LSU.... but let's to actually see him play before anointing him as some sort of savior.....

Agree, lets see how he plays after a few shots to the chin. With our depth, they'll be coming for his knees....We still have to play AU, this year...

I am purely going off his CC high lights, and imo fundamentally he is the best since Flynn.

Holy shite. Of all the dumb things to say you go and pick this one.

We weren't 13-0 with JJ. While giving him credit for wins he contributed nothing to was common, attributing wins to him while he was in street clothes/stripes is especially egregious.

The 2011 LSU O was #2 all time in rushing and pasing TDs.
You'll see it in the new Media Guide if you don't feel like looking it up.

I am aware we ran the football, if I also recall JJ did not have a passing TD since Alabama. Lets not go there and just be happy its over and Mett is in control. I think we all can agree Mett is a better Qb.
