If you like Wes Anderson movies at all then you will like this movie. I do think Rushmore and Fantastic Mr Fox are better, but this movie was very entertaining and original.
The characters and small details once again are outstanding. I'd say 4.5/5 stars. The acting was superb. My girlfriend also loved it.

I thought this movie was terrible. Worst movie i've seen in a few years.

Wes Anderson is my favorite recent director.
Glad to hear the movie is good.
To GtG: why do you hate the movie?

Unless you have a love/hate relationship with Anderson:
Rushmore followed by Royal T. are two of my favorite movies of any director.
But I disliked Life Aquatic and Darjeeling to the point of disavow that Anderson made them.
I have a suspicion this movie will fall in the later category or somewhere in between.

Just got back, it wasn't overly funny but I still really enjoyed it. Thought both of the main characters did a great job. I don't know if the rest of the theater didn't like it or just wasn't familiar Wes Anderson films because my fiancee and I were some of the only ones to laugh.

i saw it today. went in literally knowing nothing about it. had never heard of it. and i dont know shite about movies either. really early in the movie, i was thinking that it felt so so much like fantastic mr. fox. makes sense now. ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)

It was an interesting movie, but it was far from Anderson's best work, imo. Also, I sort of felt like a pedophile for watching it at one point.

this was by far my least favorite anderson movie, and i was very disappointed leaving the theater.
stylistically, he's become a parody of himself, starting with Life Aquatic. its gotten to point now where his movies are so sterile there's very little life in them. and, for me, it feels like this rigid visual style has extended to his dialogue, which really bothers me. the lines are so forced to maintain his signature "quirk" that it loses anything relatable. his first three felt very genuine and honest, and ever since he's become a kind of warhol filmmaker: all style no substance.
he needs owen wilson back bad. this roman coppola collaboration isnt doing it for me.
