He isn't as good defensively as Alonso and he naturally plays a bit more forward. But the comparison still stands.

His passing is so similar to Xabi's... long diagonals, playing it in the air... good vision...

And to add to his versatility, Mourinho has been playing him at left back during Madrid's pre-season...

If twitter is to be believed, expect Sahin to be officially announced within the next 24 hrs.

The RVP news makes me sick because of his destination, but it undoubtedly will help Liverpool if we are anywhere near fighting for 4th.

Yeah, I'm not to worried about him going to to ManU. As long as he left Arsenal, I was going to be happy. I may be in the minority, but I think we have a decent shot of finishing in the top 4 this year.

My most recent article

Talks about whether Liverpool should sign an out-and-out striker in the transfer window or not

I can't get over the reported transfer fee. Rough times to be an Arsenal supporter, especially with Song strongly linked with Barca.

ETA: All of this makes me so much more appreciative of footballers like Daniel Agger.

I hate it in the sense it benefits Manure :yack:

But they are destined for top 2 anyway... All of a sudden, Arsenals goals are expected to come from unproven sources... helps us!

I am going to lol so hard I die when him and Rooney can't play together.

Maybe wishful thinking, but players of that magnitude always have issues working together.

Watching Adam Johnson playing for England right now. I think we could do much better. He has had some very poor crosses and he is very weak defensively.

Ive never understood the love fest, he's OK and of course we could use him (goals)... but I have him on par with Downing...

I'm not sure... I'm thinking Allen is going to be more of a regular starter... I think Sahin could possibly cover for all three... he is also a fee kick specialist... hard to say, but lets go with Sahin...

Also, that Carlo Ancelotti isnt that bad of a guy after all...
