moving that way and was wondering if they had any shows or carried games bc of all the tiger fans there. they can't possibly talk about baylor or houston all day. i'm sure there's a lot of texas talk with austin being right up the road. whatcha say houston tigers?

Little to no college talk of any kind here. This is primarily a pro sports city. I have several radios that pick up WWL 870 AM. That keeps me in touch for games. Also, you can go to Big Woodrow's to watch. Most of the Tiger alums go there.

you kidding right...Unless LSU is playing a Texas Team you better grab your internet service and listen in!

Whaaat?
There are plenty of radio shows that will talk college football. None specifically LSU, but they will get brought up. Les used to come on every week here too.

yeah i forgot ATM is right there too and knew it had a lot of pro sports. was just hoping they would mix us in every now and then. at least myabe some people would call in and bring us into the conversation.
got a friend in LR and he said all they talk about is the hogs winning the national championship. he said there's an lsu guy that calls in all the time and gives 'em hell.

1560 AM used to talk some LSU and would have a weekly call in from Miles each Thursday during the season. This went back to Saban during his coaching days too. Not sure they still do this.
I listen to XM radio now and the college sports station with Bill King in the morning and Finebaum in the afternoon will talk about LSU from time to time.

The ESPN channel doesn't do much LSU talk. The 12-2 radio show is pretty funny and 'sportsy'
Carl Dukes is a douchebag though on the drive 4-7

With A&M now in the SEC, I think we will get more LSU coverage on radio, TV and in the paper here in Houston. I have lived in Houston for over 30 years and LSU coverage in Houston has been fairly skimpy. John Granato on 1560 used to talk up LSU quite a bit as his wife is an LSU grad, I believe. Other than that, LSU is pretty much ignored by the local media. That is somewhat surprising because LSU has a huge alumni base here and thousands of oilfield transferees from Louisiana. Hopefully with A&M in the SEC it gets better.

Let me rephrase that : Little to no college talk of any substance.
Outside of a few segments on BCS/playoff, the National Championship game and a lot of NFL Draft coverage, the colleges pretty much get lip service.
I am aware of 1560 but you have to live within 10 miles of the transmitter to even pick it up.

Call up Innes on 610 AM in the afternoon and talk LSU. I am sure he will fill you in with all the information you could ever want. Plus, he may tell you about the time he almost beat up Chicken's friend.

Sometime around the Houston area some AM stations will pick it up just depends on the game. Other than that I use the tunein app on my phone the majority of the time while im driving, and can find by searching different espn and Louisiana stations.

As far as football radio broadcasts, you can pick up 870 AM in houston. It's not very strong, but at least it's clear.

You can only pick up WWL 870 in the Houston area after sundown and it is a fairly weak signal at that.

Josh Innes on 610 AM went to LSU so he will bring us up every now and then.

Down in the Clear Lake area, I get it fine during the day. After sundown it sometimes fades in and out.

I live in the Katy area and I can never get 870 during the day. Even at night it is usually a fairly weak signal. Very frustrating to listen to a game as the signal fades in and out.

When I lived in Clear Lake I could catch 870 just fine. I now live in The Woodlands and I cannot catch 870 up here, sucks!
