looking to make a small quantity of cane's sauce - around 16 oz.

I've seen the recipes online, but I was wondering if anyone here as made it and how comparable it was. I love how they claim it's a secret recipe when they stole it from guthrie's from bama.

you speak unspeakable lies! todd graves is an honorable man! i haven't had guthrie's in a while but i didnt think they tasted remotely close.

the one time i made it i got close but didn't let it sit together for the required 24 hours so that might have been the difference.

The sauce is nearly exact! I hope you're being very sarcastic. I prefer guthrie's chicken fingers, but like cane's fries better. Cane's fingers are larger, but batter is more bland.

What recipe did you use?

Just had Guthries in March and I found them to be completely different.

I also found this to be the opposite

If you cannot make a sauce that mimics or is indenticlae to Canes sauce you have absolutely NO TASTEBUDS in your mouth. Ketchup/mayo/L&P stir.

The ingredients are:
mayo
 ketchup
Lea and Perrin
garlic
salt
black pepper

If I remember correctly. Don't have the ratios (can check this weekend when I'm in front of my PC).

Let it sit for 24 hours before serving or it won't come out right.

I alwasy thought it was seasoning salt like (Tony C's) as you can clearly see the red specks in the sauce.

everything else is correct.

quote:

1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup ketchup
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon seasoning salt

eta looks like Guthrie's uses Paprika, and Cane's does not.

(or do they...?)

I love how McDonald's claims they have a secret sauce, when they stole it from the Thousand Islands.

I'll say this...
3 to 1 for your main ingredients.
But that's all I can say.
I might have said too much already.

I've heard substitute the mayo with ranch.

Sure, but it won't be Cane's sauce.
