Roddick coming in with some momentum after beating Seppi in the AEGON International.
I just want to see him in the quarters.

Roddick does have the easiest of the top seeds in his quarter of the draw with Ferrer and Murray, so he does have a favorable draw if he can play well on the court.

Venus getting her arse handed to her in the 1st set. Down 0-5.
ETA: and down she goes (6-1, 6-3)

Has Venus made any mention of retiring in the near future?
I don't see her continuing to play much longer if she can't compete for titles or even make it out of the first week of a slam...

Thanks for the report. I saw the first set as i was getting ready for work.
I don't like Venus that much but she's my favorite of the Williams sisters.

Does anyone know what time Ryan Harrison plays?

not sure if she spoke of it in her post match presser. i'm sure someone had to ask it. too many injuries (lingering) to keep her from doing much anymore. gotta think retirement will be coming soon. she has a business to run, anyway.
ETA this from ESPN.com...no post match quotes yet:

WIMBLEDON, England -- Five-time champion Venus Williams lost in the opening round of Wimbledon for the first time since 1997, falling 6-1, 6-3 to Elena Vesnina of Russia on Monday.
Williams had lost in the second round at the French Open, her first Grand Slam action since Aug. 29, 2011, at the U.S. Open; two days later, she pulled out of her second-round match at that tournament, revealing that she'd been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease.
The unseeded Williams lost the first five games Monday. She put up more of a fight in the second set but was broken in the sixth game when she missed a forehand. Vesnina clinched the match with a service winner.
Williams was making her 16th straight appearance at Wimbledon and had not lost in the first round since her debut.

I hate to root against an American but I cannot root for a Williams sister. Come on Harrison.
I am tired of Roddick. He was my favorite player for a while, but his arrogance, along with lack of results, has worn on me. I still root for him, but he basically sucks.
