I think Benson is splitting the roles of GM just like he did with the Saints. Loomis is the numbers guy. He understands the cap and how the rules work. Sean Payton is the football guy. He evaluates players, tells Loomis who he wants, and Loomis works out the most favorable deal.

I believe Benson is applying Loomis' strength with numbers and contracts to the Hornets, while allow Demps to make basketball decisions. Loomis has shown he can sit back and let someone else make personnel decisions. I don't see any reason he would change in his new job.
