Yea I had thought of that, I'll pass though. I was drawn to it being a tandem because my girlfriend is into fishing and wants to get into it with me but I'm thinking two solos will be the best option. This boat would be a bitch if I was by myself, it's listed at 98lb with no rigging.

Not off the top of my head but I'll look into it. Any luck fishing those spots?

FIL just bought a used kayak. Is storing it under my carport.
Its a Perception Sport: Pescador 12.0
12'long, 28" beam, 60lb., 350lb. capacity
Not a fishing yack, but for free I might have to go screw around with it and see what this yack fishing thing is all about.

Pescador 120 is actually an awesome kayak for fishing. Same mold as the 2008/09 Wilderness Systems Tarpon 120.
Try it out, guarantee you will get hooked

Good News! Will Paddle around in the Bayou a few times to get used to it, then bring the pole and see how that goes.

ID the red boat
It's a Magic. Looks like a 14.5' but could be a 12'. Native made them, but quit due to cracking problems. Does it have the seat? If so, great boat. What do they want for it?
So I read back and see you identified it. That's a pretty good deal, but the seats are expensive, and since they quit making them, parts can be hard to come by.

I have dollies for both of my yaks now.
thanks Deacon. the pro angler has a dolly and a trailer. We dollied all we could. A 14' Kayak didn't make the turns on the handicap ramp, so we had to take the pelican off the Hobie and then lift the Hobie over the rails. Of course the dolly came out and your had to lift it again to put the dolly under it. And then stairs..........

For a college tourney we launched out of the state park??? Fished around all the camps and whatnot and also around the big concrete breakwaters.
Not sure if you know what i'm talking about
Jim, we were at the state park at the end of Grand Isle. No camps there. We fished the breakwater jetties in front of the east end of the island.

Yea I did a little more research on them, looks like Native quit making them because they had trouble with the molds for them, but that the boats are pretty good, just heavy, 98lb before being rigged/geared up. I decided to pass but if someone is interested I can pass along the contact info. It's posted on Craigslist in Lafayette.

What's the best way to hang up a 12' yak when not in use?
I'm envisioning some sort of rope and pulley system but I'm interested to see if anyone else has something set up already that I can copy.
I'd like to get this thing up in the air and out of the way in the carport if possible.
Caveat: can't/don't want to hang it on the wall.

yea I've seen some of what you are talking about. 2 pulleys that raise the yak then tie to the wall.
Posted on 1/6/14 at 4:10 pm to s14suspense
You can find them for around $30.

I have a pulley system in my shed. I'll take pics if I remember when I get home. Pretty simple.

I tried a pulley system and didnt like a few things about it. I ended up going with two cam straps. I liked the locking feature of the cams while raising and lowering.

Thank you polarpop. That'll fit perfectly above my Prius.
