Not to those fewer shot attempts would mean less FTs for James

He can't make them anyway, so it's essentially a turnover.

Wasn't he 12/12 last night?

This isn't baseball. ALL NBA playoff games come down to the last 5 minutes and you aren't gonna win shite without a superstar closer.

This is false and the numbers show this, there was a great article on it on True Hoops.

It showed how the Lakers over a span of a few years were actually outscored in these clutch last few minutes of games.

It didn't stop them from winning 2 titles.

But I've seen it! My own eyes tell me differently! Kobe best closer in the league.

And ESPN tells me the same!

I rememeber on another board I used to post on, a guy talking about how in close games Lebron's FT% plummets.

So, I linked him to Lebron's regular season FT% then his 82games.com clutch FT% which was like 3 or 4 points higher.

And in THAT situation on FTs, the dude busted out the EYE TEST, saying he didn't care what the numbers were, he watched Lebron miss more FTs late in games.

The eye test on free throw %, that was an all time classic.

Safe to say kobe never had the torch?

I don't give a flying frick about the clutch or whatever, but Kobe was definitely the best player in the NBA at one point.

Now, Lebron is.

I think it would be a fairly safe assumption to say the torch (best player) has gone from Jordan to Shaq to Kobe to Lebron. Yeah, Chris Paul is awesome and had a disgusting 2008 and Duncan is tremendous, but I think it is fair to say that is the progression of the best player in the game since Jordan.

Stop trolling.

Everyone knows Lebron has Definitely been the best player for years. He is the all around player that does everything for his team and the objective stats prove it.

Kobe fans have just been pissed about not having the best NBA player on their team so they hate on Lebron for stupid things like team championships when a guy like Kobe has gotten to play with the best front court in the league for years.

I don't either, but that was for the OP because he was talking about clutch. And Kobe isn't as clutch as everyone thinks he is..

I can agree with that

While this is true now, you tend to think that the Lakers still should not lose because they Kobe + stud front court, which is somewhat asinine. I think the Lakers were a contender this year and could have won it if things fell their way, but nothing more. They have like four people on that team who can play basketball.

This.

And even though I despise Kobe, I have never felt the need to troll his game. The dude was/is an amazing talent.

The Heat scored 89 of their points from 4 players.

The Thunder scored 80 of their points from 4 players.

I would not consider the teams in the finals incredibly deep either.

I will say Mike Brown is garbage(always has been) and deserves a lot of criticism for their failures though.

I love Kobe, but his fourth quarters can be quite frustrating. I hate when he goes full retard and takes dreaful shots.

However, when Kobe is on, it is like the coolest thing in basketball IMO.

Remind me of a slightly less talented version of the Heat. No bench to speak of whatsoever, but three Top 5 guys at their position.

I thought if the Lakers could beat the Thunder, it would have been a huge upset. I think if the Heat can beat the Thunder, despite what the media says, it will also be quite an upset considering how much better the Thunder are 1-7.

Neither would I, but the Lakers had awful ball distribution and shite offensive schemes.

Their top 3 plus Artest are enough to get it done if you can give them a couple of the players from the past. They still need an Ariza or Odom and a point guard who does not suck.

I am just saying Lebron has been heavily criticized while not getting to play with a front court that would compliment any stud perimeter player.

Lebron's teams in Cleveland were extremely weak and no one could carry them. While Wade and Bosh are great players and form a better supporting cast to James I still think Wade does not compliment James well for a sidekick. This is due to the similarities in their games and Wade's inability to shoot the three. I have been for the Heat trading Wade for elite big men because of this.

The Heat have 3 great players plus Battier (that bank three was awesome) and Chalmers are decent role players.

The Thunder are not that deep. They have 4.5 good players. Sefalosha is awesome on defense, but the dude has missed like 3 dunks in the Finals so far. Perkins sucks. I think the most telling factor of the Thunder's lack of depth is that Derek Fisher gets significant minutes.

I just do not see a match. The Magic and Lakers would not deal their stud centers for Wade.

Chalmers can be ok, but I don't know if I see much difference between him as a role player and the pgs for the Lakers honestly.

Really the biggest thing for the Thunder is I feel like Westbrook and Harden have been more consistent than Wade and Bosh. Bosh did have the injury though.

Lebron and Durant should cancel each other out as far as scoring most likely through the series. It will be what those guys do outside of scoring as far as helping push their team over the top.
