What are the expectations of the LSU fan base going into the season? Would you guys be completely upset with a 10 win season?

As a UF fan, and I think most of the nation agrees with us....we kept expecting an offensive performance from LSU like they showed on 1/9 all year. Each week, I would watch the games and just kept waiting on them to lay an egg with their qb play and offensive game planning. I think thats why they were 13-0 against the spread before the title game.

Obviously they will have more talent at the QB position than last year. Do you guys expect to be 13-0 and playing for the national title again?

This place would go into nuclear meltdown mode.

I think 8 wins will satisfy most of our fan base.

Our non-conference schedule is a joke, I tend to worry about the Alabama, Florida and South Carolina games... Then of course the SEC Championship. Do I expect to go 13-0? No. Just because there is no way to tell how Mett will do, but the defense will be strong and so will the run game

We're gonna be preason top 3 in every major poll. Most LSU fans believe our season will boil down to our game with Bam on 11/3. So yes...a 10-2 regular season would be a disappointment to most IMO.

I have higher expectations for this team than the 2011 team.

I'll say this: before last year started, and we started dominating our opponents, everyone was looking forward to this year.

People on the SECr will say that's bullshite but many people wrote off last year as a 10-11 win season and was saying this is our year. Lots of young talent last year that surprised a ton of ppl. This year will be even better.

No they weren't! If that were true and you had started with $150 the first week and let it ride for the entire season you would have ended up with over a million bucks!!!!

Anything less than 14-0 is going to be a big disappointment for several reasons:

1. "Next year is our year" was the salve for 1/9.

2. You were expecting last year for LSU to lay an egg offensively because of our QB play. That is not the expected case this year. Mett is believed to be the Mettsiah by most of the knowlegable fan base.

3. LSU's schedule is great this year. Eight home games and Bama at home. There will be a few tough road games though (FLA, Aub, Ark, and I think USCe. LSU will rely heavily on the conference schedule to pick up its schedule strength.

4. Finally, because that is what LSU fans expect every year... Where else could a coach win a NC and average 11 wins a season and be a miserable failure.

if we get 10 wins and don't embarass ourselves in the losses i'll be fine. if we just get straight up beat that's something else.

The offense will be tangibly better than 2011.
The defense should be about the same overall caliber.
The special teams is arguably the best in the country.
The schedule is a good bit easier.
The chaos of personality of 2011 is most likely behind the team.

All of this makes me think LSU ends up in ATL in early Dec, and is the national favorite to make it to Miami Gardens' Sunlife Stadium in early January.

right after zach signed i made a bet with a few folks that we would win 11/bcs bowl game in 2011 and win the bcs title in 2012. i am good so far even though it was a pretty bitter ending. still confident in this year even though i would have loved it if mike-b would have stayed one more year.

I don't know if we will go 13-0, but I expect a very successful season this year. I feel strongly a double digit winning season is upon us. But we play in the strongest conference in the nation, and on any given Saturday, if you don't bring your "A" game, you can be beat. I trust Miles to do as he always has done and have our team ready each week. Got to tee it up and bring it. Can hardly wait.

well, does not matter how much talent you have. An army of lions, or tigers in this case cannot be led by a lamb.

Honestly, with the way this past year ended....I will not be happy with anything less than national championship. I know that's an unrealistic stance to have as a fan but I can't help it.
