He gave me his 16 gauge shotgun my grandmaw gave him in 1957. My grandmaw died in January from breast cancer.

I love that man

ETA: it was Remington model 58

Good stuff. I got my grandpaw's old shotgun. Probably gonna mount it above my fireplace when I build my house.

He told me what size shells it shot and all about it. I said, "Papa, I'm never gunna shoot this gun"

Would y'all shoot it? I wouldn't want to chance messing it up or anything. It literally looks brand new, and I intend to keep it that way

Me and him go way back. I started working summers cutting grass with him when I was 13. He worked me big time

I'd hunt with it some... make some memories with it, so when you pass it down it has some history to go with it. Just me though.

Congrats on graduating and the gift!

If you haven't yet, be sure to take some pics with you and him and the gun! That'll mean a bunch 10 or 30 years from now.

Awesome gift! And I'm sure he'd want you to use it and not have it sit up and collect dust.

Hunt with it. That's what it is for. When you have little Jose take him hunting with it and give it to him.

I love my dads guns and can't wait for the two little Dusts to have them.

I'd hunt with it. Just dont creep geese in the rain with it. Also you may not want to shoot steel shot out of it.

Congrats

Ok, noted.

I'm guessing that would make it rust easier or??.....

I'm thinking if it's pre-steel shot the steel in the barrel may be softer than the steel in the steel shot and it'll pit it and whatnot
