I've seen him hit as high as 94. Typically 90-92. This gun seems very slow today.

mid 80s at best.
not a major league pitcher.
you would need serious breaking stuff or a serious change up or a knuckleball, to pitch in MLB with typical fastball around 82, which is what he does.
Kirk Reuter had a very good career pitching in MLB in the low 80's,
and he had a real deal curve in the 70's.
Nola will probably have to make it as a position player.
However, he could certainly learn a new pitch or even two.
He's just a freshman.

His fastball isn't 82...what game are you watching?

Two seam fastball (moves left to right) generally will not have as much velocity as a 4 seam (straight fastball). That's why you'll see him throw low 80s sometimes and high 80s to 90-ish sometimes...both fastballs. Watch for the movement and that will tell you what he's throwing.
And ask Greg Maddux how that sub 92 mph fastball worked out for him.

He averaged around 91 mph for his fastball this season. The game in the SEC tourney where he only threw 2 innings, he hit 94 a few times. Trust me...he throws much harder than 82-85. He wouldnt have gotten drafted as high as he did out of high school if he only threw 82 lol.
It also seems like if you get the ball up, this gun registers a higher speed than if you keep the ball down.

As usual, you have no idea what you are talking about.
Nola typically lives around 90MPH and has touched 93 in several outings this year.
