He's only 27

That is the biggest drawback. But it seems like he is what he is. He's solid, but he always runs up high pitch counts and generally doesn't work dee into game. Holy shite what a catch by JD. As for as return it would obviously have to be great to pull the trigger, that is a given. He could probably bring just as much, or more, than Wandy.

It would have to be for guys who are 22 to 24 and have already proven themselves at the highest level. I think it would be stupid to trade him for a bunch of prospects when he's already proven himself to be at least a solid middle of the rotation guy. If the right deal comes along though you obviously trade him. In terms of "pitching over their heads" though, I think Rodriguez is outperforming his actual skill level much more than Norris is, if that makes sense.

This team is fun as shite to watch. I don't think I've watched this many games on TV since 06 or 07

That is funny I was just telling my dad the same thing today.

Yeah, I definitely wouldn't move him for guys in the low levels. Just spitballing and wondering if his value will ever be more than it is now and where he'll be in his career when this team is ready to seriously contend again.

Obviously he's not a guy you would deem untouchable or anything like that. There isn't anyone close to that on the roster. I think they can truly contend in 3 or 4 years though when he would be 31, and I think he could be a good #3 or so at that point (hopefully behind Appel or Gausman and somebody else).

I've had the theory that he would be a really good closer too since his main fault is that he's basically a two pitch guy, but he throws hard and has a nice slider.
