SEC Baseball Advice and Something to consider

USC won their first game but then lost the next two in the 2011 tourney but was a #4 national seed and won the CWS last year.
In 2010, USC went 0-2, but still went on to win the CWS
So don't be worried! We still got a game tomorrow! And we are the regular season SEC champs.

I think none of us trust the Selection Committee.

Also, LSU is the only team in SEC tournament history to win the tourney and go on to win the National Title in the same year! 2000 and 2009!
I hope these numbers comfort the loss today. Although it does suck to lose game one, it is OK and hopefully we can bounce back tomorrow!

They screwed us last year, no doubt. But we didn't even make the SEC tourney in 2011 so you can't be completely pissed at them. They just didn't think we deserved to be a bubble team I guess.
Different situation this year. For example, we WON the OVERALL SEC!!!!!

Not to mention we also lost game 1 in 2009, but still won the tournament and the CWS

Well considering the SEC has 9 championships and LSU has 6 of them that isn't all that surprising

Don't think I heard anything from Jim yesterday.

This is Hawthorne yesterday:
So it looks like Joey Booj-wah is warming up in the pen ... No, thats Kevin Berry
Alright, looks like the Tigers are getting another one warming up in the LSU bullpen - it's Joey Booj-wah ... Nope, that's Joe Broussard.
Alright someone is out in the Tiger bullpen ... Jim, it's Joey Booj-wah.
If you guess enough, he's bound to be right hopefully once a game.

As others have pointed out, the Selection Committee used to be comprised of a bunch of Skip's bbq buddies.
That generation has since retired, and it's now comprised of a bunch of guys who are sick of seeing teams like LSU, Texas, Rice, ASU dominate the thing historically. So all those teams are held to much higher standards than the new kids on the block. And South Carolina is still very much a new kid on the block - they are now where LSU was in the early/mid 90's.
That's my tl;dr version of I don't trust the committee either.

also, college baseball has come a long way money wise. back then, the money and exposure generated by LSU was relatively more than it is now (because other programs have grown as has viewership). i didn't know about the bbq thing; ole skip was the ultimate salesman.

Like ESPN, the Selection Committee hates LSU.
