The Next Bond: Shortlist or Longlist

Given the age of Daniel Craig, and the fact that he looks over 50 on the Skyfall poster, I think it's a safe bet that he's in for at most, one more Bond.
He's good, but I expect them to go younger, keep the trend of a few movies per actor. With that said, who looks the part.
Top choices:
Tom Hardy - He's having a huge summer, and his turn in Inception had a Bond feel. I think he's Number 1 at this point.
Hugh Jackman - Was on the list with Craig before, I think he'd be the best pure Bond.
Christian Bale - Not sure he would, I would think he would stay away from another long term commitment.
Out: Clive Owen, Ewen McGregor, Jude Law
Dark Horse: Tom Hiddleston - No lie, watching Avengers again, he could be modern version of Timothy Dalton. Sinister, take no prisoners type.
Completely Not happening, but would be awesome: James Callis, yeah I think he could do it.

I personally think Gerard Butler would've been an awesome choice before he became a mainstream actor, just based on appearance alone.
But Wilson and Broccoli (the Bond producers) like to pick these random arse, semi-famous people, which I'd rather them do to be completely honest with you.
So if they continue to use the formula for selecting Bonds, the next actor will likely be someone who's starred in a plethora of foreign films and maybe 2 Hollywood films (as a secondary actor).

I feel like almost every name you listed is too well known to play Bond. It's never been Bond movie style to pick a big actor.

I think they're gonna go younger with the next Bond. Depending on how well he pulls off Superman, they might give Cavill another look.

Where the frick is Jon Hamm on that list?

Fassbender should be #1 on any Bond list.
After watching that trailer, are they just afraid to play the Bond theme anymore?

Craig will get 2 more films. The producers love him.
Here's the first teaser trailer for Skyfall. Craig looks great.
I'm not going to lie he still does the part (and Moore did Bond when he was what like 52?). But I feel with the fast pace of Hollywood, they'd want to go younger soon. Or at least someone who looks younger (Jackman).
Heck, I'd rather he get more than 2 films if Skyfall is better than Quantum. This is more of a "If it has to happen who would be best," rather than a "Craig sucks, who can be Bond next."

Not really true. After the debacle with George Lazenby and Connery's return for one film, they went with Roger Moore, who had already made a name for himself playing Simon Templar (The Saint).
Additionally, Pierce Brosnan was well known as Remington Steele, which screwed up his becoming Bond earlier, forcing the producers to go with Timothy Dalton.

Most likely because Thomas Newman is a mediocre composer. I think the biggest flaw in this film will be the musical score (compared to that in previous Bond films). Replacing David Arnold for Newman was a mistake.

I think Craig is a great Bond. I just thought QoS suck balls.
Hugh, Bale and Fassbender are pretty big names. Hard to see them as a Bond for an extended film run.

He isn't starting on the score until June.

Would be great as Bond...may become too "big" for the role, however, by the time Craig's run has ended.
