Taken from someone I know's FB, not my own.

prefaced by: I usually tip 20%

underneath this says: 54 minutes and 25 second for 2 soft tacos....

so OT, acceptable or unacceptable to do such things? and then take pics and upload to FB?

Neither, just looking for attention. I agree with the note if you are going to put a zero in the tip box though. At least the server knows why

I would love a "comments?" line on receipts.

Yeah as long as I can make sure I'm driving off in my car by the time they read it

They already spit in your food, so I guess the joke is on you.

If service was really really bad and youre not going to leave a tip then you should leave an obvious low amount, like a nickel, so that they understand that there is a problem, if you leave nothing then they just assume you're cheap. I guess a note would serve the same purpose, but seems a little tacky to post a pic of.
That being said I usually tip pretty good even when the service isn't that great, because there are a lot of other people who factor in to the wait time between sit and service. for me to not tip at all, I think the server would have to be rude or ugly to me personally.

This.
I would need to be damn sure that the waiter was at fault before I left them nothing. It would generally take them having a bad attidude and being forgetful, etc for me to leave nothing or just a little.
I do think the note is an ok idea though.

Who would wait 54 min for 2 soft tacos? This person is a dumbass. I've only not left a tip once or twice and the waiter earned it

I've done similar many years ago when the Copeland's was open at St Charles and Napoleon. Once the waiter took our orders the only time we ever saw him again was when the food came. Never refilled our drinks, checked on us, etc. I worked service industry for years and would never ignore a table like that and as a customer it's not my job to find my waiter when I want something.

Yeah if the only problem was the wait on the food then that isn't all on the waiter, if at all. Now if he person was neglected the whole time hen it is a different story. Still the bill is $7. Throw a dollar on there at least.

I think that's a little unfair because it may not have been the server's fault at all for that kind of wait time. Although the server should have asked she can do anything or get them anything, complain to his/her manager, etc. before the customer had to wait 54 minutes. But we don't know the whole story.. all we know is a receipt

It say for two tacos. Waiter should have split the check and added his automatic 20%.

But any good waiter would be back in that kitchen barking for that order b/c his tip is going to be reflected on that right or wrong.

Ask the average server how much that usually matters.

True. All this does is piss off the kitchen unless the main chef is there.

As for the OP, I believe that if you do decide to leave nothing, you should explain yourself. But we should remember that waiters don't cook your food. Now if you waited 45 minutes between salad and main course, then MAYBE you can blame the server for not firing the entrees early enough, but these were just a couple of tacos.

You're probably right when dealing with a restaurant that is serving soft tacos.
