Sorry for the late reply - in the middle of the work day here.
The Cambodians speak Khmer. We operate 3 private schools that are English and Khmer based so we have both native english speaking teachers and Khmer teachers. Here our orgs website: www.asianhope.org.
We pretty much educate a wide spectrum of kids in terms of socio-economic status but our target is the impoverished and vulnerable kids.

I had something similar happen. I was in the grocery store by my house, wearing an LSU shirt. All of a sudden, the manager came running over, also wearing an LSU shirt. Said her and her family had just come back from Baton Rouge and her daughter was going to LSU to play softball.
