Motorboat, about how much fuel did yall burn through? Looking at a few options for an August trip and I'm trying to get a ballpark cost. What are the pros/cons of going out of Fourchon as compared to Venice?

Yeah I wasn't paying attention to the date, just realized that the charter I posted is already booked by my uncle that day.

We did an overnight and burned about $900 in fuel.

In August, the tuna slow down some and move pretty far out. You may want to consider going out of Venice because you have more options to head in more directions. But those dudes in Fourchon are good and will put you on them regardless.

I would think most reservations for may thru august are made months in advance. Good luck though you never know someone may cancel.

If its grand isle I know a great guy. I'll get his number tomorrow and post I bc I have a new phone.

Here's my catch going with this dude:

Granted, he called us and said the tuna were biting hard and we drove down and went. So results may vary but you will get you some fish. He'll also clean and bag the fish for you (though we helped bc we aren't lazy asses).

Damn bro. You may have to just rent a camp in Grand Isle and surf fish. Probably a better time anyway for a bachelor party. You screwed.

Post on LAS and rodnreel and maybe someone will contact you.

Nvm, I didn't notice that treedog already posted him. Sorry. I spoke to him and he said he got like 10 calls just this past week for that day. rodeo weekend is hard to get a charter going on such short notice.

I'm looking for a Charter as well, but it seems most of these are for 4-6 people, anyone have any recs for 10-12 people?

Virtually all the charter boats in Louisiana carry a "6 pack" license, meaning that is the maximum number of customers they can take at a time. So, you are looking at either 2 boats, or one of the two services in Fourchon (Steve Tomeny or what's left of Charlie Hardison's fleet). I think the Cougar and/or Pat Al that used to run out of Empire will also take more, I just don't hear much about them anymore. There just aren't the number of big headboats here that you find in Florida, or up the East Coast.

Yeah. Some people just charge by the person so if you go that route then bringing 2 boats wouldn't be as outrageous as it may seem. I'd call a guide and see if he ha a buddy bc you don't want conflict btw two guides who wan to go to their own spot.

Lance Walker Fish Commander and if it is a bachelor party I would go out of Grand Isle nothing at all to do in Venice. Not that Grand Isle is Vegas but alot better than Venice.
