Thanos would be an excellent villain for a sequel. He's insanely powerful.

true, but they didn't really make him look like anyone else.

There were a lot of dumbasses behind me that actually thought it was Hellboy, no one was confusing Hawkeye with anyone else.

Thanos, aka the mad titan, and he wants the infinity gauntlet. It was in "thor" in Odens trophy room.

Actually he wanted the cube. It's just fan speculation/theory that he wants the gauntlet.

Thanos. He basically kills half of a universe and almost every hero sent to stop him. For example, he decapitates tony stark. In the end, he was defeated and some spell made everything right again.

To summarize in simplest terms. He comes from a big powerful (literally) family that is mostly benevolent. He's not benevolent at all though. He is prone to largest outbursts of violence. He is approached by the female incarnation of Death and in order to woo her, she tells him to make sacrifices of entire planets. So he uses his army to do so - this is why he drops the line "..to court Death".

So that's why he agrees to loan Loki his army. Loki thinks it's so they can rule as a dictators, but Thanos just wants him to wipe out Earth's forces so he can make our planet one big sacrifice to Death.

Obviously, Loki failed, Earth is nowhere near as weak as he thought, so he's pissed.

False. Very very false. Thanos is not completely evil. See the Infinity Watch series.

False. Death never actually approaches him to ask. She only revives him. This is his own assumption. And Death actually rejects his offers of "the dead," on multiple occasions.

Know what you're talking about.

We have no idea about his motivations in the films. No need to be certain of anything at this point. He doesn't even speak.
