I just saw on facebook that this is the new master plan. The link is a 13mb PDF, might not want to click on it if you are on a phone. It looks very impressive.

Are they going to have slaves rebuild those slave quarters that they now call "cottages built and arranged to create a village effect", for the white tourists?

That seems to be a rather ambitious number of rooms for that area.

It would serve them well to move the chem plants wharf to the north a bit.

Houmas House has started construction on the third restaurant. The foundation is poured and it's being framed up as we speak. It will also serve as an additional ballroom. The Inn at Houmas House will have 22 rooms in the first phase. Some will be suites, some will be single rooms--all extrememly luxurious and very high end. Besides weddings, the targeted audience will be the international visitor mostly from the UK, Canada, France, and Germany. Contracts are already in place to fill these rooms during the week in 2013. The Steamboat overlook is part of a Federal Grant applied for and is estimated to be complete by the end of 2013. Currently, 8 addtional acres of gardens have been added and a small amphitheatre is underway. If you haven't been to Houmas House lately to see all the additions, you should. It's truly impressive.

I love Houmas House. If I could have had my wedding there, I would have. Great ideas.
