Besides the lack of evidence presented by the commissioner and the lack of relationship/trust he's building with the fans and players union is the fact that from the get go, it's seemed as though Roger Goodell wanted to draw a line in the sand between the difference of a pay to injure program and a pay for performance program.

All kinds of players and coaches have admitted to "pay for performance" programs across the NFL within various clubs and years in the past yet the NFL had zero intentions of ever investigating. Oh, this is about we were told to stop... child please, it's been warned the whole league was warned about this and its still been happening.

Yet there is something more mythical about what the saints were doing because of locker room vocabulary or lingo. I mean, pay for knockouts... that's so different from a "cart off"... i mean paying to fricking sack a qb... that's laying the qb out more often than not and you do it at your up most strongest ability possible. It's called fricking football. Our "conduct" in the locker room did not translate to any more illegal on the field activity than any other club. I don't know what demonstrates intentions more so than their own damn conduct.

And also the NFL has had zero intentions in trying to get the story from all angles. How do you penalize vilma more so because he's a "leader", what the subjective donkey shite is that? And everyone in their momma knows Goodell is wanting to make examples of individuals... i'm sorry, when was that acceptable as fair treatment. It's okay if you unfairly excessively penalize an individual as long as its know you were just wanting to make an example of him.

I'm kind of more fired up about this than ever before because of the strong denials from the players. It's pretty evident that the denials from the players are jumping on the same line in the sand that the NFL differentiated from the get go... Pay for Performance vs Pay for Injury. It's all fricking gray area that Goodell wanted to distinctly differentiate for a very convenient personal motivation that only benefits the NFL as a business, not the NFL the employees.

frick you Roger and Eat a dick.

That's kind of how I feel.

We've seen the recent rule changes, all supposedly in the name of player safety. Goodell could really give two shits about that. You don't scream player safety and then try to get them to play more games per year, and thus exposing them to more trauma and shortening their careers.

This is about trying to position themselves for the coming lawsuits. They have former players suffering from depression, dying early, sometimes from suicide.

I couldlnt agree more.

I was listening to that Moron, SCoot on 870 yesterday. He thinks there is proof and thinks we all need to accept this and move on. i think he must need ratings because lord knows he sucks.

I got a new job. Can't post on TD much unless I'm on break and on my phone. I'm not happy about it. I almost TL;DR this post. Glad I didn't.

I agree. This has more to do with lawsuites and less with player safety.

Today's political correctness and knee-jerk reactions to every thing they hear is out of control. People just hear things on the news and want something done asap without even viewing the evidence and weighing out the facts.

Goodell's refusal to investigate other teams that Williams has coached and the fact that other players (James Harrison of the Steelers) have publicly stated they are out to hurt other players=NO CREDIBILITY!
LINK
I haven't heard him addressing that? He is just using this as a convenient and easy way out to cover his and the NFL's butt in the upcoming lawsuits over injuries and concussions. He is a scumbag.

I blame Obama for wanting to "crucify" oil companies/non-Chicago sports franchises to make an example of them just like the Romans did.

My issue is this: during the Coach/Organization phase, the line handed by the NFL was this took place in 09, NFL told them to stop, they didnt, so they were punished.

If this is the case, why did Scott Fujita get suspended for three games, since he was no longer with the team after 09?
