I can't wait until this weekend when they play New Orleans.

Although I've seen Les several times with his Frog Brigade, the last time I've seen Primus was on the Antipop tour which was over a decade ago.

Yup. I've got a handful of bands that I would never miss, and Primus was always one of them.

I've got a bunch of friends going. Should be great. I almost went, but already had tickets for and can't pass up the Rebirth, Papa Grows Funk, and Original Meters show at the Howlin Wolf at the same time.

i enjoyed seeing primus last year at hangout, it was my first time seeing them.

BUT ive seen les and his various bands probably close to 15 times. i enjoy the openness of those shows over the primus set i saw, it was too scripted with little to no jamming.

still not sure if im going to go saturday night.

Don't get me wrong, I like Jay Lane as a drummer, but Primus isn't Primus to me without Herb on the drums even though Jay is the original drummer. The Atlanta Tabernacle show back in 2003 on their reunion tour is a top 3 live show for me. 2 sets with the last being Sailing the Seas of Cheese.

I was planning on making it down to nola this weekend for the show, but I have to go to Lafeyette next weekend to my cousin's graduation, so I can't ask off that many days of work. Tony Clifton, and the Dead Kenny G's are opening, correct? Should be insane.

This will be my first time seeing them. I hope they stick to the older stuff because I didn't really care for the new album.

Can you drink in the street during that festival? That was my one knock on Beale St. is that I couldn't tote a brewski.

Saw the Dead Kenny G's open for them at the Ryman a couple of years back. They were awesome if you're into that type of thing.

Never been, but I sure as hell hope so.

ETA: after PANICKING and looking at past year's pics on their website, it looks like you can indeed drink on the street(s). WHEW!
