5-10, 161 lb, WR from Huntington College, a Div. III school in Montgomery, AL. Blew scouts away with his record breaking performance at pro day. Had fastest times in the cone and shuttle drills in recent memory. Fastest 40 in the draft this year. 24 teams have talked to him. He will either be a late round pick or an invited free agent.

It is a cool story. And yeah, he is a white kid. Kind of unheard of.

I like how in an article about the potential of a WR you get ZERO mention of whether he can catch or not

He was the team's leading receiver (which isn't hard at so small a school), so he has to have some catching ability.

What will that 4.31 turn into when he gets to playing weight? He can't play at 160.

This. But if you are GM, why not take a shot in Rd 5 or 6?

They were talking about it on local radio here yesterday. It is a cool story. He really shocked people. The scouts made him do everything twice just to prove he could do it. Word has spread fast.

He supposedly has really good hands, runs sharp routes, and has a crazy work ethic. He was done with football but put roofs on houses over Christmas break to earn money to hire a trainer to get ready for the pro day. His times in everything improved after getting with the trainer and teams feel confident he can gain weight without losing quickness or jumping ability. He is 5-10, not 5-6.

I think he might be an intriguing late round pick for a team looking for a slot receiver.

I'm saying in general. Take Poe for example.. just because he can bench press a ton of reps he'll be taken early.

Well, this guy won't be taken early. He is either a 3rd day guy or a UFA. But, it is a cool story and the NFL is full of small college guys who end up making it. I will follow his career.

Will probably take him in the 3rd round of my fantasy draft next year.

interesting story

athletic freaks are always worth a gamble in later rounds (not the 1st or 2nd round)

I think we need a draft day PICK-em for everyone to guess where he goes, and what round.

Oakland would have been a lock if Davis were still alive.

Yeah, he has a touch of the redneck. I heard that in the interview. He is from Georgia, so, there's that.

Seems to be a good kid, though, and is a very hard worker who gives lots of focus to the intracacies and intangibles of playing WR. Huntington doesn't give athletic scholarships either, so he had to pay his way through school - or his parents did. Either way, it seems like he would be a guy with insane talent who would also be totally fired up to just be on an NFL roster and would give his all every day. When you can find a small college kid with those kind of measurables, I think you take a chance on him.

The 5-10, 160 part can be alleviated through how you use him. Look at Darren Sproles for example. A 44" vertical has him playing at at least around 6-2, if you think about what he can do on the field. Plus, with that kind of quickness, he can get separation. Most of the CB's he will be going against are only a little bigger than him.

I'd love to grab a guy like this in the 6-7 round and see what happens.
