He's nuts but I don't know why you'd want to waste tax dollars on jailing a guy who's only had one off the court legal issue which happened five years ago.

Personally I think this is worse than what Pete Rose did in baseball. He should be banned from the game forever. That includes Europe too. Heck, maybe even try him for attempted murder in a court of law. Anything less than 5-10 is a travesty.

Given his history and repeat offender status.. wouldn't that push his suspension longer than an average guy? Although, I can't imagine throwing a blind elbow at a guy's ear can't be brushed off as just a major flagrant...

Yes, Artest has one despicable things in the past. However, that was EIGHT years ago in the Palace. Since then he has won a Citizenship award. This was stupid, but he deserves no more than 5-7 games.

he has a history (maybe the worst history in the NBA) and he blindside KO'ed a guy with his elbow. if it was an accident he would have reacted with shock or dismay when he hit him... he didn't... he followed through and kept celebrating

i hate handing out fines and suspending guys just to do it and most of the punishments lately are ridiculous, but i think he needs 8-10 games minimum for this garbage. Its not like this was an elbow while battling for a rebound or making space while he had the ball. this was an unprovoked cheap shot elbow to the side of the head. an elbow like that is far more dangerous than a punch, especially the way these nba guys usually punch.

If this was NFL or NHL with commisioners facing a flood of lawsuits he'd be gone for the year. As it is I would guess 5 games.Low rent move but I wouldn't expect any less from him.
