He'd have to play 2nd. He has zero power. Can't play corner infield or outfield with no power and little speed

He's not similar at all. The guy hit 28 home runs in 08 which was tied with Matt Clark for the most homeruns. He also stole 17 bases. They really are completely different players.

I'm strictly comparing them at the plate, not over all game. Beckham hit a tone of balls out of the park, yes. But, he also had the advantage of the composite bats, which make a huge difference in power.

The only comparison that comes to mind with Rhymes and a MLB player is someone like Mike Diaz of the Braves.

They're completely different at the plate too.

You have got to be fricking kidding me. You really think Raph would've hit 28 homeruns with the old bats? Yes, they made a difference. Not that big of one though.

It doesn't make a 25 home run difference.

You're only looking at 1 stat man. You're neglecting EVERY other statistic there is in batting. For starters, Beckham hit .411 his senior year. What's Rhymes avg? Homeruns don't make a hitter.

Not that .411 isn't insanely good, but you are only looking at Beckhams homeruns and neglecting any other similarities between him and Rhymes

Home runs matter when you're talking about how similar players are at the plate. I'm done with this because it's so absurd.

I love Raph rhymes too, but as a hitter he is nothing like Gordon beckham and he has no chance of going in the 1st round.

The Rhymes - Beckham comparison is almost as bad as the guy who said Garrett Temple would be the next John Havlicek on here.

He'll certainly have his chance in professional baseball, just don't see him making it to the majors.

Right now he's a one-trick pony, he'll have an uphill battle refining the rest of his game... He's definitely a hard worker (as evidenced by being cut & going to Eunice & working his arse off to earn a spot on the team). One thing the scouts can't measure is heart, hopefully he proves me wrong one day, right now I just don't see it.

Good college player,no chance at next level. Think of all the 4-5 tool studs that LSU has produced that never sniffed the show..............

You're probably a good person, but you have no idea what you're talking about.

RR is having a great batting average half season. He hit .360 last year (guys do this all the time). He is below average at all of the other 5 tools.

Do you know how many absolutely stud, 5-tool players never come close to the show? He'll play some pro ball, but no chance @ 1st Rd.

Not much value at a corner outfield spot. My best comparison would probably be a right handed batting, not as good version of Dustin Ackley. Absolutely zero chance of first round pick consideration but if he can move to second competently and show he's not a one year wonder, he could become a solid prospect.
