I had dinner there a few Fridays ago. It was very good. I wasn't all that thrilled with the decor. It felt sort of sterile and cold with the exception of the columns that are covered with oyster shells.
I think the dinner menu is different from the lunch menu. Looks like the lunch menu may be the sample menu online.
I liked the shrimp fritters and the broiled oyster apps. I'd get either of those again. I had the stuffed flounder which was just huge. It was good, but I don't think I'd order it again. The stuffing was tasty and sort of fluffy. I ordered it because another diner couldn't decide between that and another fish dish. We all fish dishes and they were all good. The other two were better than the flounder, though. One was drum in brown butter sauce with pecans and crabmeat, which is probably what I would have ordered. I really liked it. The other was pompano with tomatoes, hazelnuts, garlic, olive oil, croutons and a sherry vinaigrette. Also very good.
We didn't get desserts.
Service was very good.

Report back, Wink. The menu has probably changed since I was there a few weeks ago, but I would have ordered something different, for sure.
I have about 6 reviews I need to get on the dining guide, but haven't had the time. I'll try to do it soon, though.
It does look a bit like a cafeteria in some ways as someone else reported, but the chairs, as ugly as they are, are more comfy than the old chairs at Arnaud's or Upperline with that "ring of wood" around the seat that will eventually get to your thighs if you have a long drawn out meal.

Gris Gris, when are you to give us a full report on your recent culinary exploits in Sin City?

Probably in the next week or so. Most are restaurants everyone already knows a lot about. Not many surprises, but it was all very good.

I got the "Fish In A Bag" the last time I went. It's sheepshead broiled in a parchment paper bag with caramelized onions, tomatoes, and crab butter (chef's creation made from crab fat). It was really good and I definitely recommend it. Very aromatic, which was probably the best part. The duck poppers are not as good as they claim (I could make it on the grill easy) but I did enjoy the crawfish croquettes. Order apps, the portions are small. And a St. Gleason

The slow smoked pork empanadas were a great starter. I got the twice-cooked garlic chicken. It was good and the portion was huge, but seafood is really their thing.
My boyfriend got the crab and pork belly hot pot, which sounded good on paper but didn't quite work as styled. The broth was too sweet and there was not enough heat.

None of our entrees were small and none of us ate every bite of them. In fact, the stuffed flounder could have fed 2 people, easily. It was huge. I found the apps to be very generous also.

My portion was decent size but another person at my table got the pompano and it was small. They are generous with the apps though. And the 50-cent croquettes at happy hour are a great deal.
I did catch a glimpse of the flounder. Now that thing isn't small. Looked great too.
