The Deaf Dome Magic Carpet Ride Has Begun!

I am fully aware that there are many naysayers and doubters of the Johnny Jones hire, but I am so excited about the change of LSU Basketball. I just feel the program is going to turn 180 degrees, and is going to return to the competitive level not only in the SEC, but with non-conference teams throughout the NCAA. For the first time in a very long time, I feel that LSU Basketball has hope. No longer do I have to watch Trent Johnson sit on the bench showing no emotion or direction for his players. I know this is premature, but I just feel like LSU is turning the page to a much brighter chapter in the novel of basketball success in Tiger Town. Whether you like the hire or not, please get behind Jones and the Tigers, and give them your full support. If you want to bring the roar of the Deaf Dome back, then jump on the Purple and Gold Magic Carpet ride and let's do our part as loyal devoted fans and season ticket holders. Great things are coming! Welcome home, Johnny Jones!

Bruce Pearl committed career suicide twice and never even won anything along the way. According to the NCAA, Johnny Jones has never committed career suicide.
LSU basketball is in GREAT shape. Great results will soon follow. Geaux Tigers!

Have you been living under a rock??? LSU Basketball HAS been a complete train wreck since Trent Johnson was coach. Johnny Jones is THE man for the job to unravel the mess left behind.

I totally agree! "Bullet" will get the job done right!

I think of it as a recruit. There are tons of talent out there, but only a few want to play for your team. Jones elected to take the LSU job because he loves the place. I'll take that over a mercenary any day.

We won't know for awhile whether this was a good hire or not but we do know now that JJ does have an enthusiasm that TJ never had and never will. TJ could not get a maggot excited about a garbage dump, and I think that spilled over to his team's play and his recruiting. JJ said more to create excitement in his presser than TJ did in his entire tenure here. That is a huge improvement but it will still be about winning!

No doubt about it! His connection to his LSU family will make him pour his heart into a job at a place he loves. It is personal for him. I love it!

It was very apparent in his coaching style and his team's performance. TJ was a waste of space.

Can we call it the deaf dome again within the next 2-3 years and not smirk?

Looking forward to the return of the FREAK DEFENSE.
Seriously, Johnny is a good hire.

I hope he does well. But if he makes louisiana recruits his priority forget it!
If he can bring in one rivals top 30 recruit a year and the best of louisiana I think we would have a competitive team!
But he must recruit nationaly. Louisiana had 15 players in the top 100 the last ten years. At least half were 60 plus. Most of the players rated above 50 came out in one year. Tasmin and davis(20 and 13) were 04. During that time period we had one player in the top ten( monroe).
Derenbecker was a perfect example he was rated 77
he could not compete in the SEC. He was not physical enough nor quick enough. He was louisiana's top recruit in April 2010.
My point is we must bring in national recruits thats what Dale Brown did! He did not rely on in- state talent alone.

quote:Don't forget Brady. I don't recall much in the way of charisma or enthusiasm out of him either. And for that matter Dale Brown had zero of that during his last 5 years. So this indeed is a welcome change!
JJ does have an enthusiasm that TJ never had
