Didn't commit thanks to a lazy HC not because of Scott. I have no idea if he brings anything else to the table. But both of our top targets in back to back years liked him enough to speak highly of him on the record. He obviously has a knack for building relationships with recruits. If everyone thinks we are gonna flip Gathers in a matter of days might help to have someone who has a relationship with him as well.

I saw Chris Oney play many times in high school (McCall in Tallulah) and college ( Ole Miss). He's good coach and recruiter. I would be happy with this hire.

Trent said in his TCU press conference that he was bringing Guerinoni and Scott with him.

so far it does look like he's putting together a staff that's much better than anything trent ever put out there. I know you stood by them at the time but his staffs sucked.....hard

Look for Randy Livingston to be brought in to help Jones with recruiting and Mike Sanders to help with x & o's and player development. Sanders was La player of the year in 77 & 78 ,three year starter for UCLA, ten year NBA career, assistant coach for 3 Nba teams, extensive head coaching in D leagues, and is currently head of player development for Utah Jazz. He played with Jones at De Ridder and lives outside of Dallas.

Shitload of former PGs on this staff..

JJ: Former PG
RL: Former PG
MS: Former PG

scott supposedly doesn't want to uproot his family and leave BR, he'd prefer a job here but if not will follow TJ

There was speculation him and Hickey would leave, but were going to wait on the hire and see.

Sanders played center at UCLA and forward in pros. He was specifically brought into Jazz to develop their big men as that is his area of expertise.

He needs to do more than keep current players, he needs to get some new ones...Gathers? Steal some from north Texas commitments?

He does have a 6'10 JUCO C commit at UNT. I know absolutely nothing about, but he certainly could help us based on our current situation.

I was looking at his wiki page. It lists him as a PG at 6'6" 210.
