re: When does camp start?
Posted by tiger7882 on 8/1/13 at 3:05 pm to SouthBendBob
Why does TCU get to start camp on Thursday ( today) and we start Monday. Do they get two more practices in than we get?
Ed Reynolds from Stanford was #1
Moving on- ESPNU names Loston #4 safety nationally for 2013

Nice props from Rod Gilmore. Bama's Clinton Dix was ranked #2. Earlier they had Freak their number 5 DT. Our starting D should be fine. 73 days.
I started a baseball thread first to be safe!

re: John Adams as punter and DE
Posted by tiger7882 on 4/30/13 at 12:36 am to Cincinnati Bowtie
He was pretty dominant in his day, Second or third team all American at DE. No Brad Wing but average SEC punter. . Drafted by Raiders but injured early on, Got a Super Bowl ring though. He was from De Ridder. He was so athletic than ran him at tailback every once in a while, He was 6'4" , 235 in high school . I was a 165 pound cornerback. It did not end too well for me when he ran a sweep my way! Think he woks for Turner in Baton Rouge.
Yes you will,, there's a slot for wheelchair and then a regular seat for guests.

re: Chavis exposed, he has to change this...

Love our D and how Chavis operates it, but as this article points out , we have had three games in a row were we have given up a late TD. Adjustments need to made as its not working especially if the players feels its like a slow death.

re: Long Term Care
Posted by tiger7882 on 10/14/12 at 10:35 pm to Nissanmaxima
I bought LTC through Northwestern in my 40's at a premium of roughly $1,000 a year. A decade later I was diagnosed with a terminal illness with a 3-5 year life expectancy. I am in year 3 and am disabled and have nurses aids and caregivers that come to my house. My policy pays roughly $200 a day for such services. This buys me roughly 10 hours a day of such services. This means my wife and family don't have to be burdened with my care all day. This is extremely important to me. I do not anticipate going into a nursing home type facility and think I will end my days at home. I also have a LTD policy from my former employer that protects 60% of my income. Did I ever think I would need these type of policies? No, I had no history of anything like this in my family. But, both of these policies have been instrumental in keeping my family's finances in a fairly stable position. They were insurance against a catastrophe , and I experienced one. If you can afford it, I would highly recommend LTC and LTD policies. Catastrophes happen and LTC and LTD policies can be instrumental in determining whether one catastrophe is contained , or whether (without these policies) multiple financial catastrophes ensue. I'm glad I have these policies. Life can be tough, do things if you can , that can make life easier for you and your loved ones during the toughest of times. To those posters who have said they would rather die than be in a position where you have to use LTC; you might be surprised if you are in that situation how precious every day is and how thankful you will be for each extra minute you have to spend with your kids and family. Life is truly to be cherished as it is a gift.
Afraid this nickname will stick if Hurst is out as this offense has enough issues already.

ESPN's new nickname for Les
Posted by tiger7882 on 10/10/12 at 1:53 pm
On CFB, no more Mad Hatter, Les Miles is now Les Yards. We need a win this weekend to reestablish credibility. Don't want recruits to feel this negative national vibe. Phil Steele did pick Tigers this weekend.

re: Tom luginbill just ranked lsu as 5th in the conference.

Mel Kiper was on CFD saying dropping LSU for winning is ridiculous . He said defense is great and offense is evolving. He still has LSU playing Florida State in BCSNCG
ESPN Recruiting Nation show today summarized some of these threads. Said the dislocated knee cap was not career ending and would keep him out 4-6 weeks. They said Longhorns stopped recruiting him after giving him 90 days after he decommited to make up his mind. Said leaders now are A&M, LSU, Baylor, and Oregon. Said he averages over 30 points in basketball so thought possibility of playing both was real. Also said they were considering moving him out of their Wide Receiver category and into the Athlete category has he hasn't sent much time in pads catching the ball as he has been playing QB. Went on to say if he wound up playing basketball in college it would probably set back his development into a pure wide receiver. Said he might wind up as H back or slot as opposed to true outside receiver . Is this Russel Shepherd II?
Odoh is definetly not going to be here in 2012, from a firm source
Think his Dad's a neurosurgeon
Penn State doesn't offer much at tight end but they do have two senior outside linebackers on the 2012 Butkus award. If there was an interest, we could build depth at a position where Miles has already stated we will be forced to rely on true freshmen. If you can make yourself better, do it.
