It will take that long to rebuild anyway.

I think he would be an ideal coach for LSU. He would certainly fill the seats more even if they do continue to suck for a couple of more years.

Nobody can rebuild this program any quicker than August 2014

Because they didn't lie to the NCAA investigators and contact the recruit's family to try to get them to lie to the NCAA investigators.

I would not attend, watch, or listen to a single LSU men's basketball game for the entire duration of the hypothetical Bruce Pearl era.

I'd rather have a losing coach with integrity than a winning coach who I consider to be an unethical, unlikeable sleazebag.

Aren't his sanctions just that he can't personally recruit? That's not so bad. That's why you have assistants

it's not like he was doing anything really all that bad IMO.

Agreed.

it was his won fault for lying

That's what got him in trouble.

I believe he has learned his lesson and will def not be a repeat offender.

I agree. That's why I wouldn't mind if we hired him if we could. 2014 is a long time though.

The University would have to appear before the NCAA and explain why they hired Pearl. NO ONE gets hired with a show cause order.

He basically wouldn't even be allowed to talk to any potential recruit. And if he did, both he and LSU could face HUGE penalties.

No, I've wanted TJ gone for over a year now. He just generated no excitement or interest in the program and didn't seem like he really wanted to be here. That being said, I'd absolutely prefer TJ to Pearl.

Luckily, we have more choices than just those two.

You do realize that what he did was actually not that big of a deal, right? And unlikeable is ridiculous. I remember him being in the student section cheering for the womens team with a painted chest. I live in TN and every UT student I know said he made it a point to be involved in more things than just basketball. He made a mistake, doesn't make him a sleazebag.

I would be thrilled with a Pearl hire. We aren't going to be great next year anyway

I liked that he spoke of the job as some of us still see it

This is the one thing we have going for us. The coaches today still remember the rudy macklin chris jackson and shaq LSU days even if the 17 year old recruits dont. The coaches have seen where we can be rather than just only looking at where we are.

Pretty sure he didn't have any players on a literal payroll. Don't bring up an irrelevant 30 for 30 that you watched Saturday.
