The Raptor rip off was pretty ridiculous. I enjoyed this movie. I went in expecting to see what I saw.
The main pet peeve I have is that movies that are military heavy should have military advisors with them at all times. Godzilla has to be the worst at this. ID4 is up there also. It is clear either they had no advisors or they were on coffee break the entire writing and shooting of the film.

And that leads to point two: Godzilla, why you no wrecking shite? We paid to see you kick arse and frick things up. Why are the film makers treating Godzilla like a pussy? And where the frick is the atomic breath? Seriously? How hard is it to make a Godzilla movie?
It's about Godzilla the character. They made him into something he's not, and the audience didn't recognize it. And rightfully so.
Yet further proof that Hollywood is full of negligent idiots that only have their jobs because who they know, who they're related to, who their mommy/daddy is or who they're sleeping with.

The movie was suppose to have 2 sequels but were canceled due to poor reception. Does anyone know what these sequels would have been about besides the surviving egg?

That soundtrack was pretty good back in HS
That soundtrack got me into classic rock.
I saw the P diddy(known as Puff Daddy back then, lol) song, then downloaded some Zepplin on Napster and then just started going on a classic rock kick that continues today.

I think the main reason it failed is because they didn't use the Godzilla scream/yell/roar enough.
That sound is iconic, like the Wilhelm Scream. Godzilla without that guttural yet high pitched roar is not Godzilla.
It looks like the guys who did Cloverfield watched Godzilla and said,"Wow, that sucks. We can do it better." And they did.

I like how the mayor got to have such a say in the strategic decisions ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)

Where did it go wrong?
casting t-rex as godzilla. especially after the trailer showed godzilla stepping on a t-rex skeleton.

I enjoyed it, even though it wasn't a great movie and had some WTF parts (like Zilla disappearing for an act, the zilla babies, etc.).
I always liked it much more than the general public did. But I also never watched the old Godzilla movies, so I wasn't trying to hold it up to any standards or anything like that.

i remember being in one of the palace theatres when i saw the first trailer and they were in a museum and the lady was saying t-rex was the largest creature to roam the earth and then godzilla steps on the t-rex skeleton.
I thought, wow ! that's going to be awesome to see the new palace environment with the current technology.
I was disappointed by what the new godzilla looked and sounded like.
