I said it when it got leaked "someone drafting in the top 10, but not the top 5 leaked that and hoped he would slip."

I just dont see Coop letting him slip.

didn't have that great of a combine. ran slower and benched less than what was expected, while that Poe dude from Memphis put up some freak numbers for his size, so he's now the top DT prospect.

McShay had him at 25 almost two weeks ago in his Mock Draft, so I don't know why this is surprising to people.

Poe took his spot in the Top 10, & Brock will now probably be the 2nd DT taken. With the new rookie wage scale, you aren't talking about that much of a difference, anyway.

The real contracts that matter from here on out if you aren't a #1 pick are your 2nd contracts. That's where you can make your money. So don't get caught up in Top 10 or Top 25. It's still a huge statement about his ability & where he came from compared to where he is.

You did see the improvement he made from the combine to his Pro-Day, right? Improved his 40, came in 6 pounds lighter, & repped a TON more on the Bench.

He isn't slipping. He's maintaining. His tape's too impresive for him to go lower than 25 IMO.

If Brockers would have stayed another year he would have been a top-10 pick. I also think Ruben would have went the F&$# off with Mett throwing the ball around. Brockers will still get paid a ton, but I think Ruben missed out on some serious cash.

Brockers has family pressure that he's dealing with in order to produce for them ASAP as I understand it.

With Randle, I have to say that dmitch had told us he'd be back. Obviously things change, & he figured 2nd round money was just as good as another year in college.

People keep forgetting that every year you put off the NFL nowadays just pushes your eligibility for that 2nd contract another year away. The new CBA makes the draft more-and less-attractive.

Less in that there aren't anymore JaMarcus/Bradford contracts with all that guaranteed money anymore.

More in that your 2nd contract-the one where the real money is-is an extra year away if you stay in school. In other words, no, you aren't tempted to go get a fat 1st round deal now that the new CBA is out, but you are tempted even if you're a Tweener if you think you're just being undervalued over the short-term. Might as well get on with putting on the weight, learning your craft-and getting paid on the way to your 2nd-and bigger-deal.

EDIT: I'm gonna tell ya'll again that LSU's reported 40 time for Randle was not what the Scouts agreed upon at LSU Pro Day. LSU's # was significantly higher than what several NFL Scouts there agreed his time was as per their records.

With the time the NFL scouts gave him, he's a solid late 1st rounder. Don't be surprised if that happens, ya'll.

Solid response. Makes sense for Randle to come out this year I suppose.

I'm more impressed with Stanford with 4. Still, Bama with 4 on the defensive side of the ball. Furk, why did they give up a point in 2011???

That is crazy, but not unexpected.
