I just found this absolutely awesome magazine. Probably most of you outdoor enthusiasts already know about this mag. If not go find it. Food, outdoors, gardening, drinks, southern conservationism et. cetera. A friend told us about this find and described it as "The Home and Garden for guys and not gay." I just subscribed. Damn i am geeked about this.

Another magazine that most on here would like is Outside.
Covers everything outdoors; camping, hiking, kayaking, photography , travel, hunting, biking, fishing. It doesn't go too deep on any one subject, but exposes you to a lot of different things.

Great magazine. Makes life back home seem pretty simple. I did take exception to their "50 Best Southern Bars" issue. Some of those places were great (Tujaques is beyond legit) but some of the other places listed are comparable to the Texas Club in Baton Rouge. Come on, man!

I agree. G&G is a great magazine. Keep the current issue on the back of my crapper. How's that for refinement?

Voted #1 place to get your nose broken in BR. LOL that place is worse than "Sports" was.

Garden & Gun is fancy, more of the Southern Proper type crowd, less of the Wax Lake WMA or Lake Bruin weekend warrior crew. Sure it's neat to see some different things but guys down this way in S. La just don't get jacked about a $10,000 over/under chasing pen raised pheasants like they do an 870 chasing gray ducks in the marsh.

La Sportsman for me, and I regularly contribute to both magazine and website content.

*edit, used to like La Game & Fish for years but now it's combined with the MS version. Print media apparently doesn't sell like it used to.

Almost took a job with them, but this fact deterred me.
