English Bulldog for adoption

So I adopted an English Bulldog about a month ago and it isn't working out. Came from an abusive home, and is not aggressive at all, but has become defensive one time. I'm too nervous with him around my children now. Looking to find him a great home. Anyone interested reply please.

Um, so you have kids and you thought it would be a good idea to adopt an abused bulldog?

I had an abused Boxer in my childhood.
What's your point?

I honestly think you will be fine with some loving care...more than a month. I have an english bulldog and she loves kids more than anything...hell...she loves people in general. That dog just needs love.

Bulldogs are a very gentle breed and are generally great with children. Most that are abused are skittish and not aggressive at all.

My point, from having a child, is that it's alot safer bet to get get a lab or golden retriever as a puppy. I love bulldog, pit bull, boxer and every other "fighter" breed, and I'm also all for taking in abused animals, but I also don't think I'd take on the responsibility of raising that breed from that situation if I didnt have an environment suitable for it. Didn't mean to come off as a dick.
