I love how we just got supposedly hammered for player safety and NFL Network just had a special glorifying hard nasty hits and tacklers.

The same plays they show from the history of pro football as a positive example of how good and tough a defensive player is are pretty much the same types of plays they now show as an example of how dirty the Saints were. Very confusing.

Might be good that they are showcasing saints hits on favre. Maybe most people look at them and say "that's it? Those are the cart-off shots? That's not that bad."

Cuz none of them really are that bad. Most completely legal. And if u look at the high low tackle there's no way that was with intent to injure. One guy dove at his feet cuz that's all he could get to. And there happened to be a guy on the other side who barely touched him and it looks like he's pulling up as to not hit him since he was already going down.

B...b...b...but we're talking about Brett Favre...the media's darling. He was old, decrepit, and playing on borrowed time. The Saints forced him to end his career AT 41 YEARS OF AGE!
I'll guarantee you if he were a younger QB he'd have shown more escapability and this is a non-story. BTW, am I the only that feels the Vikings OL should shoulder some of the blame for getting pummeled by our DL up front?
The INT he threw to Tracy is 100% on him, anyway.

Does anyone remember watching "Anatomy of A Play", regarding that play? Vilma audibled at the last second, because he read what they were going to do, and it put Tracy Porter in the spot to intercept that ball. Nobody is bringing that up, but are quick to bring up the Favre hits, and the bounty system, supposedly which gave the Saints some advantage.

yeah really, this a-hole talks about player safety but wants to expand to an 18 game season? There will also be a game every Thursday night now I believe. Those Thursday games are usually sloppy and just doesn't have the same allure as I'm used to, JMO.

Can someone explain why it is illegal for a defensive player to lead with the helmet, but okay for an offensive player can?
