My bottlebrush has a shite load of bees and wasp but no hummers yet

I usually try to get the feeder out after St. Patty's day, but last year we didn't see a hummer here (Birmingham, AL) until early June.

Yes, had three fighting today over the sugar water. I'm in Georgia but Louisiana should have them too. Try leaving the feeders out one winter. Louisiana is getting to be a place where hummingbirds winter and often they are species different than the Ruby Throats that are around for the warm months.

Get the feeders out, they are making the Gulf of Mexico crossing and the sugar helps restore the energy they burn on that long flight.

I've had a Rufous hanging in my Bottle Brush for 2 months now. Haven't seen the first Ruby- Throated yet though.
