Dude started out posting like this and saying he had to get his girl to type for him because he couldn't but now he's learned how in the short span of 2 weeks.
Can we get an alter check or a post review or something for this guy. It seems pretty obvious to me that ol' tyrone is an alter.

Meh, we know he is likely an alter, but what does it matter really? (other than taunting the admins).
The truth is, we need these "villains" on TD. Maybe not so much on the rants or sports boards (CHICKALUNDA knows there are enough of those organically), but on the others? They add variety. They add counterpoint. They are the the ying to our morally ambiguous yang.
Without the trolls, without the alters or provocative personalities (or at least posters cast in the same mold), what would the OT be like?
After all, what would the world be like without captain hook?

I was thinking exactly this but had trouble putting it into words. Like it was a brief bout of aphasia or something.

I've started writing a "the case for trolls" thread before, but it just felt out of place.
Now, some trolls are annoying, but even so, you miss them when they are gone (here's to you Rocket
) because they added another dynamic to the board. They gave you an opponent, a nemesis, something other than sycophants.
Sure their schtick might have gotten old, but the best ones were when they surprised you and you found yourself on the same side as them.
Good cannot exist in the absence of evil.
Black is not conceivable without the concept of white.
We need them, lest we become them.
