Yeah
These ULL mouth breathers like the op believe the state government is the reason why ULL is not a national power in just about everything. It's some vast LSU conspiracy to keep them down because of course without these legislative shackles, ULL would be one of the finest athletic and academic institutions.

I do have to believe that since most of the people in power in BR are grads of LSU, they get favorable treatment towards funding of all colleges in the state.

spoiled by the government? How? who is the only athletic department that runs on its own with no tax money? I believe that it is the university of Louisiana at Lafayette who cried and complained to the government. "We are not a directional school. Please let us change our name." ULL has never been used there is no UL other than Louisville. You hate UL Monroe for also being UL__. Why do none of your minor league sports teams have the name Lafayette in their title.(Bullfrogs, Ice Gators) inferiority complex. The city and the school are full of it.

If he does a little research he will find out about what happened in the spring of '84. Tulane agreed to give up the name UL and we took it with their permission. Then lsu used all the corruption that they had on their side, which was a lot, almost the whole state government and it came down to a judge who was an lsu alum. He ruled that the name change wasn't "done correctly". A totally baseless ruling since Tulane gave it and we took it.
Long before this, state funds were used to expand Tiger Stadium. They built dorms underneath the expanded stadium and called it "educational spending". Pure corruption is what it was. The latest one was giving every Louisiana politician National Championship tickets at face value. A total conflict of interest.
It is not them beating us often in sports that makes me dislike them and certainly it is not wanting to be like them. Who would want to turn into that and descend into self absorbed, arrogant darkness? No, it is the fact that they are and have been the recipient of so much corruption.

I'm glad you brought that up. Lets see...according to the Board of Regents, the LSU system will/has recieved $225m while the UL system will/has received $292m to be divided up amongst all the universities(9 universities)in its system for the fiscal year 2011-2012. Divided evenly, that would approx. $32m per university. Next?
