Yes, they (LSU A&M @ BR fans, no school named LSU exists)should learn to deal with it. THE University of Louisiana is now going to be a player in all sports and we are growing every year. We now have enough supporters that will raise hell if they try some slimy thing in the legislature.
It is a new day in Louisiana college athletics.
UL is #1! When all of the pitchers are healthy we will be as close to unbeatable as a team can get.
Lots of penis envy in Baton Rouge because of those big Cajun bats!
This team is special, but as the season goes along we will see just how special they are. I don't want to meet the Tigers in a regional, let's save that for the final series in Omaha. LSU has one ace, but we have two and we know who has the better hitters this year.
Being there in New Orleans before the game and during the game it was pretty clear to all.
The University of Louisiana was playing Tulane. Tulane was totally outnumbered in their own city.
I did not expect anything different. That's how The University of Louisiana does things!
Geaux UL!
San Diego State was probably the biggest win. It was the first bowl win and that got lots of attention for the program. It changed the minds of many people about what was possible.
He basically shook up the administration and let them know that they were sitting on a gold mine and had been for years. Now UL is starting to live up to the potential that was there for a long time, but never realized. Expect more in the future, whether or not he decides to stay.

nd this is why some ULL fans have a problem with LSU. You would not make that comment about any other school but ULL. I bet "you don't care about ULL" either.
I posted a simple statement on how the NOLA bowl is the best bowl for ULL. It is a fun time and the school makes the most profits from this bowl. It is not "rationalizing" anything. Any person with half a brain knows that the odds of ULL making one of the top 15 bowls that have automatic payouts is not very likely to happen due to schedule, conference, record, etc.

Because you have less self esteem than Jonathan Martin, you feel the need to try and troll by making a comment like that. Get a life.

This is the truth. They always talk of us wanting to be like them, "penis envy", etc...
This is a bunch of bull. We now have players at some positions that are better than their players. They have envied us.
Also, I would never want to be like them. A fan base filled with arrogant, spoiled children who want to fire their coach because the team didn't play well in a game, who attack another school whose name hurts their insanely fragile ego.
This is why it is so much fun to see the crazies melt down after a loss on the message boards.
If the fan base for LSU A&M-BR was not made up of so many a$$es and they would respect other schools I could pull for them, but given the present fan base and their attitudes toward us, I can't ever pull for them. It is actually fun pulling for who they are playing against and not for the reasons they (the fans) will give. I don't despise them for the championships, etc... They are just arrogant a$$es and it gives me great joy to see them humbled.

500 of us have a nice piece of artwork that he signed with Billy Cannon in 2009.

Where do you get that idea? Right, wrong, or indifferent, ,ost of the Tulane fanbase is vehemently anti LSU.

In 1938 they were anti LSU, but today, from my experience, they are not. I have been to New Orleans for 2 bowl games and talked to people.
Also, for that game Tulane had against us at Cajun Field last year, I talked to a few of them. Not many Tulane fans came to that game and if Louisiana plays Tulane in the New Orleans Bowl this year, prepare to be outnumbered in your own city.
New Orleans is now producing more Louisiana commitments than Tulane commitments. We just grabbed a big 3 star TE from New Orleans last night.
Don't take my word for it:

Our recruiting is still way behind the Tigers, but we are quickly passing every other school in the state and this goes to my original post. No one else, especially not Tulane, can bring fans and even have a chance at beating LSU.
If there is going to be an in state game in the Superdome, it is pretty clear that there are only two teams in this state that could bring people to this game.
At least the Cajun fans would be real fans, talking smack with the Tiger fans before the game, actually wanting their team to win.
These Tulane "fans", all 10 of them, are also Tiger fans. What fun is that?
I know that some of our fans on the edges are also Tiger fans, but the core has no love for the Tigers and you guys obviously have no love for us and that would be a fun day of partying in New Orleans before a kickoff that night!
So true Davie Crocket! I could not have said it better myself.
We aren't ready for the Big 12 yet, but keep improving the facilities, get into another conference and work our way up.
Louisiana has something to offer the Big 12 and that is our nice location along I-10 in between Baton Rouge and College Station to grab recruits that would have gone to the SEC. We may not get the five stars, but the high 3's and some of the 4's will definitely be in play.
UL going to FCS, that sounds so ridiculous at this point. We are taking off and if you guys are too insecure too handle it, that is too damn bad!
I say we expand our stadium by putting dorms under the seats and call it "educational funding".
Lafayette is the best location in this state to have a college football team. Our administration is finally getting it!
Read some great American literature, get ready for the Cajuns to roll some more teams up this year and invite over a few of my buddies who are Tiger fans, pull my Billy Cannon / Paul Dietzel signed piece out of the closet and let them check it out, then put it back in the closet. That thing will be worth something one day. Seeing it online does not do it justice, but this is what it looks like.

I think that, based on the comments in this thread, most people want to see the Ragin' Cajuns in this regional. Aside from the atmosphere, I want a regional that is in moderate driving distance.
I don't think that our pitching is better, but I believe that our hitting is as good or better. These guys are dangerous and although on message boards there is a lot of arrogance and smack talking, Mainieri will not take them lightly.

I was accused of being high for thinking that attendance records would be set. Is it crazy to think that there will be AT LEAST 10,000+ Tiger fans, and 2000+ Cajun fans for a Saturday game? That would break the record. You people know how well Cajun fans travel.
Please, see these stats for yourself. None of the top nine are under .300 and those 70 home runs are leading the nation. Nola is amazing and to beat him these guys will have to light the bats on fire.

It will be a lot of fun!

Broski, Glenn was great that night, but that was 3 months ago and the new hitting coach has made them much better. Also, the pitcher will not be someone pitching his first game.

Teemike, I would much rather meet them in a super regional. We would not have to burn our ace playing a 3 seed, like in a regional. The good part is that we have a few solid pitchers, so this should be a good one either way.
Let's break some Alex Box attendance records!
I am ready to watch this Baton Rouge regional, even if I have to stand up. Don't get ready to sleep on this one if the Cajuns come in there. Our guys totally whipped South Alabama (RPI in the teens) 9-2, and 12-2 in the tournament. The bats are on fire and they got home run number 70 today. These will be needed against Nola because he doesn't give up many hits in a row. Come on NCAA, put us in BR and lets do this thing!
The fact that UL went through all of the proper steps to change the name and the insane politcal attack that came after, with LSU backers in the government leading it, is almost never talked about. This is, at least for me, the biggest thing. Then people brag and refer to these overtly biased, Jim Crow style laws that were made to protect one politically privileged university and try to use these to make their point. This is totally disgusting.
You hear about "penis envy" and "wanting to be like them", but these are people from the outside looking in at UL supporters.
Speaking for myself, if they kick our arse, I can handle that and we should just get better to improve our athletic situation, which we are doing. I could not despise a school just for kicking our arse, even regularly, but when they have politicians in their back pocket and use government to attack you, well then I can do nothing but despise people who support that.
As for "wanting to be like them", Ragin' Cajuns do not want to be like the arrogant, spoiled brat (by daddy Louisiana government) and perpetually angry people who even bitch and want to fire the coach when they win fans.
Mdomingue, until what was done in 1984 is reversed, I for one will never pull for them to win at anything. Wipe the Jim Crow style university laws from the books and then we can talk.
It seems to me that Hudspeth was just congratulating the players and then he stood up for his university.
I think that the Tiger fans would enjoy this game, especially if it were to happen in the next two years while Broadway is at QB. Few quarterbacks are as fun to watch.
As almost everyone knows, using stats from even 2009 are not that relevant now. Ragin' Cajun football has had a major upgrade since 2011. Also, every allotted seat will be sold and then some. 45,000 went to the New Orleans Bowl and just as many would enjoy seeing this.
Let us have Louisiana Tech. It will probably bring over 65k fans to the Superdome and we can have us a game and see who is better.
